The most damning indicators of national decline are upon us. We have watched an oligarchy rise to take economic and political power. The top 1 percent of the population has amassed more wealth than the bottom 90 percent combined, creating economic disparities unseen since the Depression. If Hillary Rodham Clinton becomes president, we will see the presidency controlled by two families for the last 24 years.

Chris Hedges...bah, a guilty pleasure, maybe? I don't know; I enjoy reading his articles, though.

I want to know what everyone thinks: Is America dying?

America is so barking stupid sometimes it enrages me. I want to hunt down every person that ever said "If you don't like it, leave", every so called patriot that says "My country, right or wrong", every person defending the actions of the government in spite of blatant hypocrisy like "They there can do that but they over there cannot", every person who has ever constantly invoked nationalism, patriotism and emotion in defense against reason and TRUE concern. I want to gather these people up and push their faces into the crap they took on their country. Unfortunately, they would most likely deny that the feces are theirs.

I think America is ill. I But I think a lot of people are waking up and are getting sick of it, sick of the constant dishonesty and hypocrisy. That said, I don't think America will die or is dying, at least not of economic or political status conditions.

I think we need to hold more people accountable, politicians and the media. None of that "resign when you're caught" business, send them off to jail like you would a petty criminal, except for a much longer time. Treason? Execution and life time in jail, no excuses, that should deter some corruption. No pardoning of corrupt officials, screw that. Hold the media accountable, they shouldn't be able spew whatever bullshit they want and pervert the democratic process.

I second quoting that.
