Sorry to hear that man. What kind of fish were they?
Betta fish; hardy as hell, and very good jumpers...but chlorine tolerance = zero >.>

I'm sooo sad you watched your fish die like that...>_<
I'm still very sad about poor Alexei >.> He wanted me to save him but I could do nothing...I mean, if I took him out, all I'd be able to do is put him into another bowl of tap water, which meant that he would die anyway. Slightly amusing, though: once he was dead, he sank like a rock to the bottom of his tank and was sticking straight up with his head buried in the gravel...and he stayed that way. It was funny...but man I was too sad to care.

sounds like water trouble. I always leave the water out open to air for at least 24 hours before exposing fish to it...
Yeah....the chlorine killed them. I left the new water overnight, but I guess I didn't have it out long enough

However:
I have replaced Rose and Alexei. The tank's been given an upgrade, too. My male betta is named Yashin, and the female is name Scoots...why I give my male's Russian names and my females pet names...I'll never know o.O At any rate, they're both yellowish white with red highlights here and there. The tank has a piece of bamboo in it, and it has three bulbs for new plants. Their water has been out since 2:00 PM, and I boiled the hell out of it before leaving. I then put a tablet into the water 10 minutes before I put the bettas in. They're both lively and docile; something which surprised me altogether, since they are not supposed to be capable of coexisting in a tank. The only reason that they are together is that I didn't have enough 'safe' water to fill both tanks. I'll monitor them for a few days, and if they live together without squabbling, Yashin and Scoots can share

I'm in a jolly mood now, and I'm hoping that these two live long and happy lives. I might be in trouble if they get too happy, though; I don't know what I'll do if they have 200 babies >.>
