I'm currently at work right now, but what happened just a few minutes ago was remarkable enough in my mind to make a topic about tongue.gif

I work night shift at a gas station, which means long hours, and it gets rather boring and lonely later at night. In any case, a guy came in, couldn't have been more that maybe 25 or so, and buys bottle of pepsi. He gives me $20, and as I'm handing him his change, the following conversation takes place.

smile.gif = Me
cool.gif = Him.

cool.gif = So, how are you doing?
smile.gif = A bit tired, but pretty good.
cool.gif = Yeah, I bet. What time do you get off?
smile.gif = 5 am, so only a few hours left smile.gif
cool.gif = *pause* How is life treating you?
smile.gif = Well, a little boring, but I can't complain I guess 1we8.gif
cool.gif = I see. Well, here.

He then proceeds to give me his change ($18.51), give me a huge grin, and say "Merry Christmas!" just as he turned around to leave. Not a huge amount, but it's still rather generous for someone just stopping at a gas station.

    Have you ever heard of a man named Larry Stewart and his legacy? Basically, this guy does the same thing, but on a much bigger scale. He'd go all over a few cities, ride buses, visit low income areas, and find people in need. Once he found some people, he would give them a small gift between $50 to $200, depending on how much he believed they needed.

    See that's good. It's when people who are already loaded win stuff like the lottery and blow it on shit they could have got anyway, or just waste the lot.

    Last Christmas I was waiting for the last bus with my friend but it never arrived. We got a taxi and let a woman, also waiting for the bus and didn't know the area well, get in with us. We dropped her off first.

    Does that count? biggrin.gif

    That is pretty cool. Some of the preachers I listen to talk about doing things like this(I'm agnostic, I just like hearing what they have to say some times) and it's really pretty cool I thought. I'd like to do it if I ever have cash, lol. tongue.gif

    That's awesome. Usually it's the older people that do that.
