I have had the little yellow shield in my system tray for a couple of months now saying that there is a update waiting to be installed. When I shutdown my computer it says that it is being installed but it obviously never does rolleyes.gif.

Anyone know how I can fix this? or what the problem may be? I'm guessing that there must be a few other updates that are being blocked from being downloaded until I get this one.

Can't you click it and install the update that way? 1we8.gif Or, you should be able to go directly to the Windows Update site, and download them via that.

tongue.gif already tried that....it says that my computer must be restarted to complete the update but it doesn't actually finish the installation.

It's been 2 months + already.....i'm tired of trying to satisfy my computer....I feel like it's a one sided relationship.

Have you tried talking to it about it? You know...if you aren't satisfied in this relationship, maybe it's time to move on. There are plenty of other fish in the sea and perhaps one of them will make you happier smile.gif.

We had a good thing going at first. As long as I pushed all the right buttons I got exactly what I wanted from the relationship. You may be right....now may be the time to trade it in for a new model. Something younger (not too young tongue.gif)....something a little more intelligent.

Maybe when it first started, you didn't install the updates and as the 2 months passed, more where added. I'd disable Automatic Updates and then go and download and install it manually. After that, turn on Automatic Updates again.

Try to solve your current relationship as much as you can. It's a better path to take than to throw it out completely. Try to atleast break it off and remain friends you know?

Instead of letting it install all of them at the same time, choose custom install and try selecting them and installing them one at a time.

It's only trying to install one update.

In that case, if it's not a critical update you can just tell it not to remind you about that one again and just cancel the installation. biggrin.gif

How can I tell if it is a critical update or just a regular update?

It's not just one update, there are like ~5 updates per WEEK, aka one restart per week to keep your PC happy. Just restart it a few times in a row, hopefully it will be happy

Actually they usually only do updates once a month (usually the second Tuesday of each month, hence Patch Tuesday tongue.gif).

i've got a quick question....

for some reason, any new videos i put on my computer run in slow motion... however any old videos i've had work fine.

but, it's only started the slowmo thing recently (like about a month or so) any ideas?
