Yea one of my teachers has a pet project that got the school a ton of New York City voter registration forms so i was delighted to have such easy access to them where i can just hand it back to my teacher. Took like 5 minutes to fill out and im glad that i am eligible age wise for this election in time. Most people in my class didnt submit one and there were a few asswipes who practically jumped out of their seats screaming for Hillary and Obama.

So is anyone turning 18 in time for the election? and if you are do you plan on registering/voting?
If not what do you think are some of the major issues for Americans about not going to vote except for "I just dont care" or "My vote wont make a difference." ?

Unless Ron Paul gets the republican ticket...I will only vote if Hillary gets the democratic ticket (in which case I'll just vote for whatever republican opposes her)

not much of a big deal... I didnt really knaw any of the names on the ballot... I just voted like the rest of western canada does.... conservatively. (I sure as hell wasnt about to wast my vote on the green party)

I'm not 18 yet but when I am I'll only vote if I really like a candidate or if my values suddenly change from now to then.
For the most part though, I just like to see how things turn out.

Honestly, you shouldn't vote until you actually care enough about a certain candidate to so you have the right idea. cool.gif If anyone tells you that it's UnAmerican to vote kindly refer them to the "Douche or Terd Sandwich" episode of South Park.

Surprisingly enough I do have opinions on candidates as the next election is quite crucial to our country and I'll vote accordingly. I will never vote for Ron Paul *puts up fanboy flame shield* and will never vote for Clinton. Nor would I vote for Romney as I think he's out for world conquest and I sense he's actually erm... not as mormon as he thinks he is. Thompson's also too adorable to vote for. He's like an angry basset hound smile.gif Obama's a nice guy. I could stand to vote for him however I don't agree with the majority of the issues one especially how he treats affirmative action which is a huge issue for me. Edwards can also go to hell as far as I'm concerned. But I happen to especially like Huckabee's health plan. Don't fix the symptoms. Cure the damn thing instead. </wall of text>

For the record the green party has some ideals I can agree with but the majority I do not. I will however say their idea of responsibility of keeping our population low is one I will support thumbsup.gif

    ....Yeah. Here it is:
    QUOTE(Women's Health News)
You’ve probably heard about Mike Huckabee’s 1992 statement about isolating HIV/AIDS patients, and his subsequent defense, essentially, “It was so long ago, we didn’t know anything then.” As it turns out, we knew some time prior to 1992 that casual contact wasn’t an HIV transmission risk. We also continue to have travel policies that stigmatize HIV/AIDS patients to no significant public health benefit (again, because of the casual contact issue), and the Department of Homeland Security is proposing changes that do little to help.

    Source

    In addition:

    QUOTE(The Huffington Post)
Mike Huckabee once advocated isolating AIDS patients from the general public, opposed increased federal funding in the search for a cure and said homosexuality could "pose a dangerous public health risk."

As a candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in 1992, Huckabee answered 229 questions submitted to him by The Associated Press. Besides a quarantine, Huckabee suggested that Hollywood celebrities fund AIDS research from their own pockets, rather than federal health agencies.

Yes, and that was over 15 years ago. Not relevant now.
