I cant install cpad onto my new p.c running vista
the application fails to initialize properly and has to close.
I have a screenshot of the error.

so when i try to open a neocodex program i get the error
"Codex Check Module Version: 3.1.4.0
DLL Set-up Error - RunCodexCheck - 0 - Please check you have the required files"

and help on how to install cpad onto vista?

try download it to a file, and then running it in admin mode - I have tested the check on 3 Vista builds and they all installed fine.

if it's still not working for you - you may run it in compatibility mode

    i'm still new to vista...

i have only one user account and no guest accounts, if i'm not already the admin user, who is? where is it?

and what is compatibility mode? is it a vista mode or a codexcheck mode?

in vista NO-ONE is admin - if a program needs it, it will ask you each time if it can drop up into admin level

to run a program in admin - you need to save it, then right click on the icon and then right click and "run as administrator"

compatibility is a windows thing, you right click the icon, select properties, and then one of the tabs is comp mode - and there's lots of options there, like run as XP Process

I've tried your suggestion of changing it to XP compatibility mode and running it as an admin, but I still can't get it to work and am pretty much clueless. Suggestions?

What is the error you receive? A screenshot is preferrable smile.gif.
