I made a great point on page 2 if anyone cares. About why we SHOULD have a 1k member rank. Only 189 of our 15k members have that many posts. Or .0126%. Ya, its rare.

I saw it tongue.gif

How about MIA instead of the retired rank.
As for the 1k level there could be Neocodex Avatar, which is a god's representative

I think instead of 1k posts it should be 1337 posts reached. That will make people feel special.

Then we can call the 1337 posters Leet Members or L33T members

I voted for the 3rd one. Yup, I'm also hoping for some benefits for Intermediate Members.

Honestly I think you should just leave it as it is and concentrate on improving what we already have, rather than adding in more ranks.

Yeah, i think intermediate would be great because it could open up new programs that regular members cannot have. That would make me feel like i earned something (i am a casual poster).

    Mhm.
Different ranks for a member who only has to post crap to achieve them is a bit silly.
Perhaps you should implement this system within the Private ranks- because there's always been problems in the past about having too many private members right?

I think, the main reason people want change is because for those who post, say 5 times a day, it'd take them over 3 months to get advanced. That's over 3 months to get anywhere, and many will give up in the mean time because they feel like it's just not worth the effort after so long.

The private issue got solved by a mass demotion. There's not that many people in private now. I'm not sure whether it's a good or a bad thing to have separate ranks within a rank like private. Can you explain a little more about what it would involve? Like is it hierarchical or just like groups on the same level?

Begain this post with : No I can't and nor can I be bothered to.
And then I realised well actually, I can be bothered.

The private issue being solved by mass demotion was pure idioticness. Honestly I wonder what goes through Patrick's head sometimes. You demote people who actually earnt that rank once upon a time. So what if they become inactive after a while- what happens if they come back? They have to apply again??? Dear God; lame attitude sad.gif Now- if you had something like "advanced private" then that solves everyone's beef about there being "too many privates" and also solving the issue of returners returning to nothing.

Amen this is exactly what i'm talking about.

You need to earn things yes.
But if u want to actual make it in 1 week orso you'd have to post like ...71 posts a day which is near to impossible,..

Ok 1 week is a bit less but still even for 1 month it;'s 17 posts which is still quite alot which results in spam gravedigging etc etc

I feel somewhat indifferent to this as I haven't really been around to see neocodex go through changes. However with that said I do think that 200-300 posts for the next bump up would create enough interest for people who would hope to stick around for 500 and as well elimanate the "peekers" which are the more selfish individauls who just want thier quick fix and leave without contributing anyhow. It may or may not lessen spam posts.

The reason for the mass demotion was not based on how many there were. I just said *that* issue was solved when the mass demotion happened not that it was the reason for it. The reason for the demotion was because all those old accounts kept being used to leak information out. People who no longer cared about the site, but still had private used their own accounts to leak info. Because it was getting out of hand, the only real solution was to mass demote and only allow people who clearly cared enough to re-apply.

I suffered from this, no private for me sad.gif Hopefullly I'll get in this time.
