I don't talk like either of my parents or my siblings, which is odd. My mum sounds like she is from the Pennsylvania dutch area, my "father" sounds like he is from the more southern Washington D.C.
Most people can't figure out where I'm from just by my speech. I've honestly never heard anyone who speaks like me.
I talk with a fairly flat, non-regional dialect, but it has a bit of an Irish and Welsh tone on a few words or when I'm talking between laughing. When I am pissy I sound like I'm from Boston when I say obscenities.
It still cracks me up that my "father" says "neck-ed" instead of "nay-ked" like I do.

I use slang most people don't even know from around here.
Thanks to Simon (The Mime) I say "true say" instead "true that" now...

If I met you in real life, I'd either love you or hate you ohmy.gif (In terms of the way you talk). Canadians make me happy with their way of speech tongue.gif

By the way, Frizzle, that is Cockney.

    I believe Britney=Spears=Beers
Used in a sentence: Let's all go have a britney!
Translated: Let's all go have a drink!

I am from California. Do we have accents? ohmy.gif

Some do, some don't to me. The accents very a lot too.

I've talked to a few people from Cali over the phone and Skype and only one of them had a slight accent (couldn't put my finger on where it came from though.)

I sound like... lots of things. I tend to mimic any accent I'm around for more than a week. When I spent 2 weeks with some guys from Newfoundland, my mother was confused by my new accent. /shrug

On St. Paddy's day I'll get to sing for a bunch of people though. So my Danny Boy needs a bit of work right now.

I am from and live in the South.
I do not sound -that- Southern.

I have actually trained myself (I know that sounds ghey) not to sound like a Southerner anymore. I don't say "ain't" and "y'all" and shit like that. SOME things I say still sound Southern though. >.<
People at work ask me where I'm from because I don't sound like everyone else around here. biggrin.gif My goal exactly. I think people from the North would think I sound "Southern" though because they're used to hearing Northern accents.

    Hooooot.
(( Oh yeah, I reallllly like British accents. smile.gif ))

I am from the midlands of England, and have a very personal accent. There is a wide difference between the accent i have, and the accent my girlfriend has about 10 miles away.

Some say my accent is posh, but in comparison to others it isn't. Its quite difficult to explain.
