Make sure that file is in your System32 folder and then register it. (if it's not in your system32 folder, google it, download it and put it in there)

    Start > Run > regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx

You could try unregistering the file then.

    regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx

one of the joys of vista is that even if you are logged on as admin you don't have admin rights unless you specifically tell vista that you want to use them for THIS ONE TASK

here's an installer for all the common runtimes - it's linked all over the place here - but i'll give it again http://www.ascentive...ibraryfiles.exe

download this onto you pc and then find the file, right click on it, and select properties - if you have to unblock it, do that, also click the "run as admin"

if that doesn't fix your issues - go back to properties, and compatibility settings are what you need, try windows XP settings

Uh, idnt feel like eading thru the other posts... but if they havnt solved this... here ya go.

    1) Go to www.google.com
    2) Type in "Download COMDLG32.OCX" & hit search.
    3) Download the file into Windows\System32
    4) Open start menu, and type in CMD
    5) Right click the CMD result, and select Run as Administrator
    6) Type this in EXACTLY:
    regsvr32 "X:\Windows\System32\comdlg32.ocx"
WHERE X = Hard drive label. Usually C

That should do the trick. let me know if it works!
