I have not made anything for a while now so I thought I would give it a shot. I tried a couple of new things out....not sure they really worked. I wanted to include some C4D but I still can't figure out how to use them effectively.

It is poop compared to some of the work that has been posted here by other people recently tongue.gif. Maybe some of those people could throw some tips my way thumbsup.gif

c/c please

EDIT: I can't find the stock image I used. I'll try and find it later today.

This is the original image.....

I see what you mean. There is a white border there but it does not show up very well. The white looks good in PS though tongue.gif.

I saved it at work so I cant update it at the moment. I'll try tomorrow though thumbsup.gif

Clipping mask yes.....splatter no. There are a couple of filters in there and some layer adjustment layers.

....and remember simple to you is not simple to the average person tongue.gif. Your work is waaaay above average.

I wish I could comment, but there's really not much to comment on. All I can see that was done was making the original larger, and little clipping mask circles around the place.. also a slight brightness/contrast change (I think). Not saying it's shit.. just saying it lacks effort... big time.

Nice and simplistic. I like the colour contrast.

The original image was huge. I made it massively smaller....not that it makes a difference tongue.gif. I was trying things I had not done before as mentioned in my first post.

Anyone got any tips? I got quite a lot of replies....but they all tell me what I aleady know. That being it is not very good rolleyes.gif.

Does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to use C4D effectively?

Okay, I'll say right now that I'm very much learning how to get good at siggie making myself, but as I realise how frustating it is to want to improve but not have anyone telling you anything to help you improve, I'll give it my best shot tongue.gif.

However, you may not be that interested in reading what I have to say as I have never once used a c4d as I don't even know where to get them from, but I manage fine (well, for my standard tongue.gif) without them biggrin.gif. I'd check out just the tutorials at codex though as they are pretty good, if that doesn't work there may be some on deviantArt?

Anyway I know when I didn't have c4ds and was trying to use something similar, I found pictures of water drops and smoke and that sort of thing worked okay, though I just try and use stock appropriate to my siggie these days. So maybe you could try that if you're looking for a way to fill in space?

I've also found that selecting your focal and copying it to another layer lets you kinda cheat with what you can do to it. I'm best at images where you just have a render and make up your own background you see, so when I tried to do pictures with background already in I hated that you couldn't really do anything and have it nice and simply behind your focal, until I just did that tongue.gif.

There are a load of good tutorials on codex to make sigs that don't rely on c4ds at all, I'd recommend taking a look at those, it'll help you develop your own style biggrin.gif.
