I just splurged on a bunch of new throwing weapons for my birthday. biggrin.gif

A lot of you guys know that I love fighting arts. Knife throwing is one of my passions. So, since it's my birthday coming up, I bought some new ones - check out these babies:
Ronin Double Bladed Thrower
Gil Hibben Triple Thrower Set
Devil's Bat Throwing Axe
I really shouldn't have bought that axe, since the wooden door I use to throw knives at is already effed up beyond belief and that axe is going to chop it to smithereens in quite a short space of time. tongue.gif But I couldn't resist. I can't wait 'til they arrive!

So what's your take on having weapons lying around the house, folks? pirate1.png

Cool beans tongue.gif. Just don't hurt anyone tongue.gif. I don't trust myself to do all that crazy stuff tongue.gif. Must take a lot of practice yeah?

Good to see you too! biggrin.gif

And yes... it took me a long time before I was able to get them to stick, rather than just bouncing off. Speaking of which - if anyone's likely to get hurt, it's me - on the odd occasions they DO bounce back, I usually have to get out of the way. tongue.gif I've not had any injuries yet! In fact, the only time something's ever come back and hit me was when I was using a hunting catapult (not for hunting; just firing at tin cans) - the ball bearing bounced off a bit of wood and hit me in the leg - catapult projectiles move much faster and are much smaller and harder to see. rolleyes.gif It just bruised though, nothing dire.

I have two ancient VooDoo daggers that I bought from one of those airplane catalogs hanging on my wall for when it comes time to kill the anti-christ.

Oh yes. tongue.gif Well, it depends on what weapon you want - anything with more than two points (i.e. things like throwing stars) are (sadly) illegal here. Throwing discs on the other hand, which are sharp all around the circumference... they're fine, it seems, and you can get 'em from that site. blink.gif
Any knife could be a throwing knife, though - or rather, your average kitchen knife would probably stick but the act of throwing it would probably make it break, if you kept doing it. Throwing knives are particularly tailored to be lobbed about!

Reckon that's gonna be necessary soon? tongue.gif

You bought a dagger on an airplane? WTF? Why do airport security officials give everyone a hard time when they just go and sell you the shit on the plane itself?! That's retarded.

Though I may have missed something here tongue.gif.

    AGAIN?! tongue.gif

How do you throw a knife so it sticks? I'd imagine it has something to do with distance as well since it rotates in the air and must be properly positioned for it to stick into something.

I used to throw my mom's kitchen knives into used cardboard boxes tongue.gif. It was freakin' awesome when they stuck tongue.gif.

    Heheh. tongue.gif Why, thank you.
They're illegal because they're easier to stick, I suppose - any moron can chuck one and it's probably going to pierce something. tongue.gif

It's to do with distance, grip, etc. When I throw I hold the knife by the blade (though you can use the handle too) and I alter my grip and so on depending on the distance to try and make it do a half-spin every time. It involves a lot of experimentation tongue.gif I still screw it up often. I should try videoing it sometime.

No man, its like a catalog and you just fill out a form and give it to them and then you receive the item in the mail tongue.gif

This was a couple years ago when I was a noob and into these things still. Now I would much rather have a gun to shoot the anti-christ with. It would also double as a zombie- exterminating device...a dagger, not so much.

    Harold.

I don't think I'd go for throwing knives personally, I've already had a dart in my foot which bounced off the little metal bars on a dart board. I imagine a knife would make a significantly bigger hole. 1we8.gif

    Sure would!!
In fact - there have been occasions where I've chucked a knife and instead of the point sticking in the target, the handle has stuck instead. The handles are pretty thick, and blunt, obviously... now, if that sticks in a wooden door, imagine what it'd do to a body? tongue.gif
