Baseball is the most thrilling sport ever... The rules aren't complicated at all
Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's bad...
And glad we are the only ones that bother with it (even though numerous hispanic and asian cultures do as well), you guys obviously wouldn't know how to play it right.

It isn't that it requires a different type of athleticism; it's that it requires a lesser type of athleticism.
I used to tolerate baseball, but I can't stand even passively watching it now.

You still have to run, you still have to be strong... how's that a lesser type of athleticism?
And we could sday the same damn thing 'bout Cricket

Your wrong. Let's see any soccer player play baseball well, they can't. It's not that it's less athletic, it's a different type...

The Japanese do!
There aren't many other sports that consist of more waiting around then playing, that's for sure. It's fun to play once in a while, don't enjoy watching it.
Keeping score is easy. If someone gets all the way around, it's a point

You still have to run, you still have to be strong, but... for how long? Minutes at a time? A second or two? I believe it's closer to the latter than the former.
In the reverse, let's hypothetically imagine a baseball player attempting to play soccer. Comparatively, this hypothetical player would do worse than a soccer player in baseball. Why? Soccer simply requires more endurance, stamina, and speed. While it's difficult to hold an exchange rate for athleticism skills and capabilities, the amount of other skills required [for soccer] dwarves the small amount of extra strength needed in baseball.

I don't think that a soccer player playing baseball would do better than a baseball player playing soccer; it is just a different type of athleticism...neither would do well in each others sport.

This post proves you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
If a professional baseball player bats .300 they're considered damn good (And if they can put those numbers up all career long they'll end up in the Hall of
Fame). That means, of 10 at bats, he is expected to reach base 3 times, excluding walks. You have no idea how difficult it is to put a ball traveling at 90 mph (Or less if it is an off speed pitch) into play with a round bat, and then manage to make it to first, without getting out. Oh, and those wood bats don't have quite the pop that aluminum bats do.
To me, soccer is the most boring sport in the world. Why watch people kick a ball around for an hour and a half and see virtually no scoring chances... or goals.

It's a mystery to me how people can stand watching an entire Baseball game.
There are tons of different strategies...small ball, sacrifice, wheel, hit and run, etc. Throwing a baseball faster than a car...that's amazing.

I think both would do well at the others' sport. Both sports are rather easy to pick up and, considering both are already athletes, they would be miles ahead of a true beginner. Sure they might be rough around the edges but they'd be fine.
I'm not a baseball fan myself but a lot of my buddies play so I don't mind it.

I mean honestly it's like saying a discus thrower isn't as athletic as a sprinter. They just have their own skill sets and train just as hard for them.
Each has their own skill set and to some baseball appeals and to others soccer/football appeals. Honestly comparing the two is a bit like apples and oranges to me especially comparing their athletes. I will say, though, that after sharing a house several times with minor league baseball players they are anything but lazy.

Baseball on the other hand is tough. When your up to pitch, you face a 95 mile per hour fast ball, which will reach the plate in .43 seconds, and 0.19 seconds of that is taken up by the chance that it takes for the signals to move from your brain to your muscles, leaving you .24 seconds to see the pitch, tell if its too high/low/wide and tell if its going to curve, drop, and slow. Then you must also swing the bat at the right height to connect to the ball, with enough strength to reverse 90 mph the opposite direction for 450 yards. Talk about pressure.
Then, we move onto other aspects, like catching an 145 mph line drive that comes at you with only 90' to see it. Or running to first base when you hit the ball to the second baseman, in which you have to be able to outrun an 80mph ball going around only 60'. Or when the ball is hit to the outfield and you have to travel 100' in two seconds and dive to grab the ball. Its all about speed, timing, judgment, and strength.
I mean, sure. I hate watching baseball, but I also hate watching football and soccer. They are all boring sports, because its other people doing it. You dont know the work or skill, the hours of practice, or the difficulty of doing it. When you look at how difficult it is to play the game, Baseball scores high in it.
Now, about this retarded ideal that baseball is hard to understand the scoring. Its simple, you have four bases and you leave from one, if you return to that same base after touch all other three in order without being tagged, you score a point. If three people get out, then the half of the inning is over and the players switch sides. There are nine innings in a game, and OT is possible with tied scores.
Just like in soccer and stuff we also tally up special things like errors (missed grounder, bad throw etc) times at bats, bases per bat, runs batted in. Or on the defense side, players walked, players struck out. Hits allowed. All of that is for the fans and the players to know how well they did.
Honestly, Soccer is so much less exciting in comparison (at least someone scores once in a while)

Watching baseball can get boring sometimes, or most of the time. I would agree, but if you're playing the game, it's anything but boring.
Let's go Phillies.
