All I do is surf the web a bit and do school work. sometimes I watch house episodes from my browser. The internet does not need to be super fast for that I dont think.

lowest you should get is about 200mb connection on a private line
fastest i say you should rent a super computer and a small ISP firm and feed it all to your massive switching network
[but really, 10mb would do the trick
