Some people think it makes him more qualified because he knows more about the realities of war and etc. But to tbh, it doesn't seem like he learned anything from it...

Truth. He is still a proponent of war as a foreign policy tool. Idiot.

Well I think its good they are bringing in someone that is from a small town, that doesn't know much about anything...lol. (I know that sounds stupid, but come on...work with me people!!!! lol) Seriously though, someone that hasn't be spoiled from birth and that has real issues in her life, should become part of the government, then she has more of a chance helping out "regular Americans" then someone living off of daddies money. (I have no idea if she does that...but I haven't heard that she does)

Well, if you're talking about not being a spoiled rich child... she's not the only one who fits that bill. tongue.gif

    B) If people are concerned about McCain dying of old age, they should concern themselves with Obama getting shot by some confederate conservative from the south lol

This is something that gets on my nerves. Do you honestly think that some white trash from the south could pull something like this off, unless someone was letting them do it? You're right in one sense, McCain will have the best medical service the planet can offer. He'll be fine.

    QUOTE (Tetiel @ Sep 11 2008, 11:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Military service has always been a major plus in the presidential race. I know you're Canadian, but I'm sure you heard about Kerry and his obsession with his three purple hearts he got for minor, mainly self-caused injuries.

He saved a mans life, did he not? Also, just by serving, he's about 1000x more qualified to talk about the horrors of war then Bush or Cheney ever will be tongue.gif . Those two (Cheney especially) turned avoiding service into an art form.

being from Alaska, and having met Governor Palin on countless occasions, I think she is a great choice. Claims of her "inexperience" are ridiculous. How will she handle a stare down with Putin? Probably the same way she handled the Oil & Gas Executives, never back down. She handled negotiations on our oil leases, held firm to what she felt was fair, and got us a huge tax revenue/budget surplus.

I dont understand how it's "scary" for her to be president just because Matt Damon doesnt know who she is. thats the most arrogant thing ive ever heard

Edit: And somebody please explain to me, when in the world did being shot down and taken as a POW become a qualification for presidency. Obviously the man's got a lot of contempt or psychological problems, he's been tortured for four years. "Bomb bomb bomb Iran", disgusting cockroach.

Have you ever met the guy?
    I have.

Not so much of a cockroach. I could go out of my way and say you are more "cockroachy".
Honestly, it's awesome your so into politics, and you are very smart. But Jesus, put it to better use than constantly being negative and almost ignorant on an internet forum.

Everyone is not that bad. Granted GWB is a homo, but McCain hasn't even had a chance yet. How can you be so qualified to pass judgment? I have this opinion that if you don't vote then you don't have much of a right to complain. You live in Canada, I doubt your going to vote. So honestly can you stfu once in awhile. There are plenty of good things McCain could possibly do for the country, in actuality I think he is going to do better than most Republicans in the past. He has done a great Job in the state of Arizona, and is a pretty nice guy. Looks like a walking corpse, but is a nice guy.

And for the record, I"m pretty sure I am going to vote for Obama, but if McCain wins, I think either way we will be miles better off than we were with the last yahoo.

Remember, almost everyone was for the War in the beginning. It's just how "higher up" handled it is what brought the popularity down. McCain supported the Surge which was a sucsessfull in decreasing sectarian violence and the amount of US Casualties. I'm not sure how you guys feel, but most Americans would agree those 2 things are GOOD. Maybe McCain will have better policy in Iraq, he is obviously much smarter than GWB.

Almost everyone was for the Afghanistan mission, there's a difference. One thing that the Bush administration has done well is tie Afghanistan and Iraq together.

I agree with some post mentioned before, she needs to get her family problems sorted out. Hell, I didn't even know there was rednecks in Alaska... anyways, I think it's retarted when politicians mention God, religion shouldn't be involved. Then again, they all mention it so I can't rip on her, but if she mentioned banning books, I'd like to see how that worked out. I wouldn't know because I don't really pay attention to American politics.

That site is pure hate. A sampling of their 'lies', some of which were corrected by other McCain supporters, lol. My responses to this idiot, who was actually banned from a Hannity forum (how is that even possible?) are in red.

7.) I Never Practiced Islam - LIAR, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
First of all, Islam in Indonesia is extremely different from the radical wahhabism as practiced by Al-Qaeda. That being said, his school was the equivalent of a Catholic Parochial school; all manner of people attend such schools, and although religious classes are required, they are by no means required to convert. And there is no evidence or testimony that he carried his parochial school classes back to the states or further. I think it'd be pretty obvious to his friends and family that he was muslim, were he to have been. Just because you say something, doesn't make it true.

10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia, I Have More Foreign Experience - LIAR, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn’t even speak the language. What did you learn, how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.
He never said that. Google it. You are intentionally misquoting obama to make him sound like an arrogant prick. In reality, he merely stated that living in a foreign country as a child made him appreciate diversity. Calling him the anti-christ won't make that true either.

15.) I Won’t Run On A National Ticket In ‘08 - LIAR, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.
Sure he said that. But what experience can really prepare someone to run a government? Even a Governor doesn't have the kind of skills that national politics requires. I just don't see how wanting to be a better representative is bad. 'I'm a believer in knowing what you're doing when you apply for a job.' Thats where this came from, and you didn't even quote him properly. Shoddy bullshit.

19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - LIAR, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
What? "Soon after, he returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law." (source) Soon after graduating from Harvard Law, that is. I mean, usually, a degree from Harvard Law, and passing the Bar exam makes you a lawyer. I don't even understand the logic here...

21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - LIAR, it took just 14 days from start to finish.
Time /= difficulty. Maybe he didn't sleep for 14 days. Maybe he had huge migraine from arguing with idiot republican senators. Regardless, your 'lie' isn't a valid argument.

31.) I Didn’t Run Ads In Florida - LIAR, you allowed national ads to run 8-12 times per day for two weeks - and you still lost.
He 'allowed' ads to run? He didn't put any money or manpower directly towards Florida: that constitutes not campaigning.

I'm done. There are just too many fallacies.

Oh, so you're the other person from Alaska? Its hard to NOT get a huge tax revenue when you're sitting on as much oil as Alaska is - I mean, Chad gets rich and they're not getting NEAR the cut that you in Alaska are. How is that justification for saying she's prepared for the job? Has she ever left the country?

Also, it isn't arrogant to say that she's scary; I've never heard of her. I doubt many people outside of any given state would know that state's governor. I don't know the governor of Virginia, and I've been living here for three weeks. I don't know any governors. I only know Texas's governor because he's a fucking retard that kills people in violation of international law (Thats our Perry).

Uh, no? What did Egypt, the UK, Spain, and Cuba do when they were hit by terrorists? They stood the fuck up, did some investigative work, and caught the bastards. The ETA hasn't stopped bombing shit in Spain for the past 40 years, and they're not likely to stop. They deal with it on a yearly basis; we dealt with it once and started two wars because of it. No one would be bitching about not standing up for America, especially the sovereign countries that we invaded and dismantled.

I don't recall them ever receiving the vote they required to go into Iraq. Though support for the Iraq war was slightly under 50% in 2004, so I'm guessing there was a higher approval rating pre-invasion.

If it is an issue for you, honestly I think you should get your heads out of your asses and get with the program and accept that people can live a long time without becoming mentally and physically incapable. He has incredible genetics so I personally say he's got at least another decade.

Yeah, my grandpa is 92 years old, still plays tennis, works out frequently, has energy, etc. Some can live old smile.gif

She's ironically more qualified then Obama is at the moment and he's running for President. Sure, she is unknown, but that doesn't mean a persons political skills are void because of that. I mean, does anyone in the UK know who Shadow immigration Liam Byrne is? Probably not, but that doesn't mean he's one of the best ministers in Government at the moment.

    Wrong.

In Obama's first year of Senate he's made quite a fucking impact. Compare that to Palin's 0 years of experience on senate.

Tina Fey here governed a town w a budget of 12million a year.. obama's managed more money in 3 weeks of campaigning.

In her years as governor of Alaska, she hasn't done shit. Her only achievement has been to make a plan to instill a pipeline from Alaska to the contiguous states. After four years of hard work, she's managed to get a blueprint on a piece of paper. I think it's a great idea to try to cut of America's dependence on foreign powers for oil, but all she has done is that.. come up with an idea. Her plan is regarded by most politicians as an expensive risk and the best part is it might not even happen and cost us 500 mil.

She does however have a Miss Pageant belt under her record.
It also took her 6 years to graduate from college.

    Sweet.
