haha.gif You have an utmost infantile understanding of socialism, even going as far as referring to China as a red-state haha.gif

Please read on the material before attacking me, I'm not even going to justify your ignorance with a proper response, just sitting here laughing.

Socialism is anti-welfare, in case you guys never understood it. Judging by some of the responses here, that's a far shot, which is perfectly fine, I've nothing against that, don't get me wrong.

What good is a government that no one comprehends cept for all mighty simon?

Socialism seems terrible to me. I thought I had a pretty good idea what it was, but after that post I went and read some stuff on the interwebs and still, seems absolutely terrible.

But I think having different tax brackets is terrible. Like in America someone like my uncle who was raised in a trailer and worked his ass off and went to school and is now a radiologist making almost a million a year. He pays a higher percent in taxes than my other uncle who did drugs most his life and works at a pawnshop for $9 an hour. I think that itself is retarded. If you make more money you should pay more taxes, but you should pay the same percentage as anyone else. Of course I am going to think socialism is retarded. But then again history doesn't matter right? Socialism works great for countries like USSR?

Oh yay. Another topic ruined by a communist debate when it had nothing to do with communism in the first place. What does this make now? Number 52?

Atleast that one guy "kind of" owned simon

Most of western Europe is socialist to a certain extent. Most European countries have universal healthcare which means healthcare for all, not just those who can afford to pay. Then there are other things like free education and subsidised higher education (also free in some cases), free medical prescriptions for pensioners and children etc.

I might be wrong, but thats not true to just Socialism?
Even in the united states there are types of universal health care. In some peoples opinions its better. If you have medicare you don't wait forever to see a doctor that accepts medicare. But murphy one of my roommates said that in Ireland if you use the free health care the wait is crazy and that most people get private insurance usually through your work.

And in America it is retardedly easy to get money for higher education. Like mentioned before, my uncle got student loans and grants that he didn't pay a penny for until after his residency when he was making 250k a year. tongue.gif

It's not unique to socialism but it's a part of the ideology. And the waits aren't really that bad, if it's urgent then you get seen to straight away.

Same thing with medicare or ACCCHS

ACCCHS is available to anyone that makes under a certain amount of money, or if you have a lot of dependents(kids). And up until recently even illegal immigrants could get ACCCHS
Medicare is usually available to people on social security(you get money for being disable, or your parents being killed ect.) or retired elderly. It has its flaws but it has come a long way.

For the middle class worker, I would say 90% of jobs offer health benefits.
And even if you do make to much to qualify for ACCCHS, and your job doesn't offer insurance, different private insurance companies are are inexpensive.

Depends really. Air force and Navy have shit fitness standards. The Army itself doesn't have high standards for a lot of trades. If you're going to be out in the fields hauling ass, sure. Depends on who your RSM is really.

I'm planning on enlisting in 8 months. Going to be a signal operator. Hmm, do you think you'll come to Qc for basic training if you enlist? I know that 8 weeks of my training will be done here, then 6 months in Ontario.

I believe St. Jean is the location for basic. If you want to be joining the army in 8 months, you'll want to apply sooner then later.

Air force would be nice, but meh. Navy... = buttsects.

Sad thing is, we'll be pulled out of Aghaniland by the time I am all suited up =/ Not that I want to be in the war, but my pay would drop dramatically.

Bonus pay would be nice. Harper needs to stop being a vagina and tell the Liberals, Bloc and NDP to piss off. Our troops are finally doing something again and everyone starts crying about it.

By St. Jean do you mean Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu? Which is in quebec so you just restated what I said and confused me tongue.gif. Went to a couple random army occupations and for all of them basic will be in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Anways checking out an online application now. Might save me a trip downtown

Can you do me a favor and go to

    http://www.forces.ca.......=215&bhcp=1

and click 'Apply Online' and see if it works? Page is not working for me. 'An unexpected error has occurred! Click here to go back Thank you for your understanding.'

Meh can't even apply for another 6 months or so
