They are really active, why? cause they have enough new members coming that a few stick around to be part of the community. Those new people keep the board active enough to stay the interest of older members. Old members hang around and new members join makes for activeness.
The big difference is darkztar'a program list is pretty impressive. Now im not private but from the buzz not even private programs are anything to write home about.
When I first joined codex like 4-5 years ago, I got an invite and I joined cause I wanted to use the super cool programs. Then I wanted to make private so i started posting. I ended up quiting and loosing record of my old account. but when i started playing neo again i came first to codex and back then the program list seemed like the same, but the programs worked.... It was benificial to be part of the community. Not as much anymore.

Which shows the difference one person can make.
Codex died because the old administration had fun with it, and have since moved on. Current administration just likes suspending people for racial slurs when they're the only people that make this board interesting to read.

Bryan has a point.
If only we got rid of all the staff cept for brandon. He is a pushover anyway, and like to be entertained as much as the rest of us. Frizzle could go on calling people niggers, stm and I could continue to wanna kill eachother, my old roommates could get on, and with kitsune no longer staff(no offens, truley just making a point) i know a few members who would come back.
Were are the days of drama.
We need sock to try and hack us, or 3vo to send spies.

I'm pretty certain more people would actually leave if we allowed such blatant racism. Hydro still owns the board even though he's not here, after all. I think he'd be extremely upset if we allowed Sonic and Frizzle to continue insulting his religion and Arabs in general.
At least I can say personally I'd leave. I'm sure that'd be a good thing for some

I'm pretty sure there is a small minority of people who would like to see me come back
If TNT were ever planning to do anything about NeoCodex they would have done it years ago. Look at us now, Kitsune. We're washed up.
I have no reason to post, and in reality, no real reason to want to come here anymore. I haven't really played NeoPets since the month after I joined, and the majority of members I do, or at least used to speak to have left also, which definitely doesn't help the matter. On top of that, NeoPets is rather old - the cheating scene also. For most programmers, it is child's play to code a program for NeoPets, and there is nothing to gain except a little fame from quiet communities founded by people who rarely play NeoPets anymore, if at all. There is really no where else for Codex to proceed now besides backwards - Codex gracefully reached it's peak in late '04 - early '05 and has rapidly fell to a rock bottom low. In all honesty, I even think the website was more active when it first formed
A lot of the staff (there are of course particular staff members I dislike, and yes, this is directed towards you) shouldn't be where they are right now, and from what I have heard constantly argue, or at least have conflicting opinions on future of NeoCodex. There is no futural structure for the website, no devoted admins coding scripts, programs, or dedicating considerable time to the community.
The site has really only gone downhill since SL64 and Noitidart left the staff team - but what else can I say, they were really the only ones putting in great effort.

Codex suffered when JAU left....and he was basically driven away. Sure he had his moments but sometimes you just have to put up with things like that and look at the bigger picture. Fact is he was a great programmer and was throwing programs out like nobodies business, good programs as well. In fact, if someone has his e-mail address could they PM it to me please.

The first is a horrible idea. Ian has been banned multiple times. He comes back is good for a very short amount of time and then reverts to the same trouble. Giving someone multiple chances is understandable but he's had more then his fair share. Contributing doesn't give people excuses to be complete douche bags.
As far as JAU goes, fuck everyone who gave him grief. >:{

Rival sites? We're pretty much a forum of 30 or so people that has 1 person warning everyone.
We're far from Neo related. Just a bunch of people that have nothing better to do than go on the computer and have small talk.

And oh yeah, Codex needs a appetising exterior and a bit of advertising. As for sparking up the neo section, I have no idea. We could sell neo accounts and buy them, but who uses them nowadays since most of us aren't premature 8 year olds?
