Marriage is about two people making a promise to each other to be together*, it's not about religion or law or pretty dresses or the location.

* At least until they get bored of each other although they'll probably stay together for the sake of the children and slowly bond in mutual hatred and before you know it they're drooling into their bran flakes in front of countdown every afternoon.

And I don't see the need for that. tongue.gif Just doesn't make sense to me. How is that different from any long term relationship? *Shrugs* Won't compute for me.

Countdown wasn't the same after Richard Whiteley. <3

Didn't know you liked Scrubs too. Did you see the finale?

I got disgustingly emotional. Was very odd tongue.gif. Wonder if they'll continue the show without JD. Though I think he plays too big of a role to exclude him but the writers are pretty good. But apparently season 7 was also the last season so you never know

That ending was sickeningly cheesy. I loved it. tongue.gif Yeah, they're doing another season, JD and Elliot have signed on to do 5 or 6 episodes of it but it's mainly focussing on the current interns I believe, tracking their journey like it did with JD&co. Turk and Cox are staying as regulars.

So I'm guessing Carla is staying too? Wonder who the janitor will pick on. And the interns are pretty interesting this time around, all the other ones were kinda dumb, like that goofy guy or Keith. Sounds promising. I bet the next season has JD and Eliot getting married

Yeah, haven't heard anything about Carla officially signing up for it but presume she'll be there as at least a guest star. Oh, I really hope it does!! I want them to have their happy ending. wub.gif

Well if Turk is in Carla should be too. Would be awkward pulling them apart. And honestly up until season 8 I didn't think they would end up together but then JD said he loved Eliot more then Turk and I knew marriage was an inevitability tongue.gif.

I guess she might leave the hospital though because of having the second baby and just become a recurring guest star.

For college.. I don't imagine that you know many American colleges but I'm going to Boston College which is ranked like the 34th or so top university in the US. Are you done with uni now?

Good thing I'm not marrying you then. happy.gif I never wanted a civil wedding, to me marriage is a sacrament and I refuse to do it for the sake of making life easier when dealing with finances etc. If I wasn't having a church wedding, I wouldn't do it at all.

I'm not going to apologise for having a faith. tongue.gif I don't force it down anyone's throats and 99% of the time it impacts nobody's life but my own. I think religion and science can easily coexist and in my life they do. I find preachy Christians to be hugely irritating too tongue.gif I'm not hurting anybody by hoping that there is something much greater than humanity out there. I don't claim to know or understand it but it's carried me through some fairly dark times. I don't think people of other religions or non-believers or gay people are doomed to an eternity in the fiery depths of hell, I'm not even sure I believe in heaven. But I believe in something and it helps me and doesn't hurt you.

Have I ever told you that I love you?

I don't pretend to be an expert on marriage but people have been doing it for thousands of years so there must be something in it as an institution. tongue.gif The church must have seen the merits otherwise they wouldn't have decided to hijack it. wink.gif

I quite liked Des Lynam as host, it's just been terrible since he left. 1we8.gif

I don't know but Dan's somehow managing it so I feel you should be trying harder.

I want it to be tomorrow. I miss football already. Summer is rubbish.

    Nah, Surrey.

Football is always a good topic. Even though I'm expecting us to sell about half our team this transfer window. sad.gif
With any luck we'll see the smug smile wiped off Ronaldo's face tomorrow. That's always cheering.

Who was I thinking of then? blink.gif

I think we'll be selling more than half our team, and with good reason since most of them are completely useless. dry.gif

    Ian?

We're going to lose decent players. sad.gif Can't see we'll be able to cling on to Johnson, Rafa wants him at Liverpool and we're in no state to turn down the sort of money we'll be offered for him. Same with Kranjcar, he's wanted to go for a while and he's worth too much to hang on to. So that's basically our only remotely decent midfielder out. Campbell and Hreidarsson have both come to the end of their contracts and probably won't be renewed so they'll go and that's our defense halved as well. We've never got a replacement for Defoe...basically the team is a mess and unless we find a buyer quickly to inject some cash I can't see it's going to be much better for the new season. *Gloom*

Think the best we can really hope for at the minute is that an impending World Cup means that some players think that they're better off where they're guaranteed constant first team football to help them retain their international squad status. I'd love to keep Johnson.
