What's the point of going ALL OUT for the chance to proceed to the finals when everyone goes? Yeah, I know there are still the pedestal matches for overall 1st-3rd place, but fighting for first in different groups is lame. With the increase of players to each team in the finals with the old system, we saw more competition as the overall stats being submitted everyday increased, so the outcomes were less predictable then they were in the round robin.

I guess this prevents people from being "left out" of the finals participation... but I don't understand the purpose of making it a set of 2 2-day showdowns o.0

I think one of the most interesting things that's going to come of this that there are 5 teams in contention for the top 4. How pissed is that team going to be when they know they're a shoe-in for 5th but cannot advance any higher?

It's literally almost anyone's game for top-4

Well, the group thing is just weird though, yeah, everyone can compete, but where is the the excitement when your team is fighting for 1st place in the 13th-16th place group? "Yeah, we got FIRST BABY....wait, that means we're 13th overall....Yeeeeaaaaaaah." It just doesn't feel right.

Though it IS going to suck for the unlucky 5th place team to find out that they have don't get to try for a pedestal placement, but have to deal with lower rated teams and just blow them away.

Plus, does that mean additional trophies for each category, like 1st place (13-16th) or something, or is it going to be participation medals like before? Personally, if I was on a low tier team I'd just take my medal and go, at least it tells the truth, I participated in the cup.

It's all just my opinion though.

Maybe a scaled AC Points Bonus?

Like it could play out like this:

You get 0 points for Level 0, x points for level 1, 2x points for level 2 ... etc...

Then you get a bonus of y points for your position in the overall rankings. That would make people want to fight to be as high as possible in the overall standings.

That would get a more overall participation in the cup, which could work, but we wouldn't know if everyone would just convert to the stronger teams to get the overall position bonus. The rank bonus should be greater then the overall position though so each team still gets a good amount of members, because we all know that even if each team tries their best to fight for top spot, the stronger teams will almost always come out the victor.

Hey jc on the neopets standings page its still showing KI as first. What's with that?

Your team is always listed first. If you had a side on Faerie Land, you'd get a better look at what the rest of the standings looks like (and it would look like you were in first)

The third graph in the Daily Standings is accurate to the methodology used on Neopets. They just have a retarded implementation. It should be sorted by YYBW/YYBD/SSW/SSD etc...

They just sort by YYB and then randomize o.0

Well, knowing TNT, they'll either keep it open for people that are "late" or give a warning saying it'll be closed after the round robin ends, but if they were smart, they would just join the team just days prior to the finals like you said. Though, if they don't want to contribute, they're not going to get much other then a useless trophy in their user lookup that everyone else will get.
