You can also get a really cool random avatar with a buried treasure win, it can be as small as 500 nps.

If you break the box into 9 sections with like 1 2 3 on the top.... kind of like the keys on a phone for it to be numbered... it was in section 1.... if I remember right, it was like at the corner of 1,2, 4, and 5... but definitely in 1/2 area.

That's the best way I remember it being.. so you guys try in that area and tell me if you come up with anything... lol.

I didn't know there's a general area. I'm always pressing the middle of section 3, hoping the jackpot will fall on that spot.

There's always a board on the Games NeoBoard that tracks the hotspot, so if you don't know where you're going, look them up.

I went on to the games board Joe posted about. Someone posted coordinates for a 20k prize, the very next person to use that got 5k.

One of the latest posts was coordinates for another 20k prize that someone won. I used those coords and just won 5k?

That's the first ever time I've won something on that game, tried probably about 100 times in the past.

I was mainly talking about the 20k -> 5k transition. I noticed on the board, that after someone posted the coordinates for a 20k, a couple of times someone won 5k and then 500np and then nothing from the same coordinates. Admittedly, I only looked at a couple of pages, and it could have been chance. It could be possible though that certain coordinates are marked as prizes, and depending on the amount of times claimed the value of the prize decreases. I think next time someone wins 20k, they should save the coordinates and use it on a mule to test.

It depends on how many times you play during those few months, as you get an attempt every 3 hours.

Costs 300 np a play. I've won probably 30 grand in the week I've been on neopets and spent maybe 4 grand. So for me, definitely it's been worth it to play.

You've just been extremely lucky, I can't seem to win anything over 500 from the game.

Doesn't happen too often. Probably every 5-6 months I'd get a 20k spot.

Also, there are hot spots that will give out more. The 'treasure' moves around with a sort of 'current' if you will. Around the jackpot are the cash prizes (500-20k np). So if you do get 20k, take note of the coordinates and tell people, also when you go back later, try and go to the same general place as you went before because it won't have moved too far.

It's not an exact science but it helps.

I think maybe we should have a pinned Buried Treasure Cord topic. I've seen numerous chats in the AC and Games section where people post where they clicked and what they got. If we do this as well, we might have a better chance at getting the jackpot.
