Side accounts and using them safely

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search and got some interesting info, but I have some more questions.

People seem to recommend using programs only on side accounts. I assume they mean programs like Ambrosia and the NP generator. So, I made a side account with a proxy, but now I'm confused. The idea is for me to get stuff and np for my main account, right? How are side accounts useful if transering between a side and a main is as dangerous as people make it out to be? Or in other words, how can my main benefit from having two or three sides?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm concidering buying advanced membership here, but I'm a bit hesitant about dropping real can-buy-food-with-it money on programs I don't know how to use safely.

The truth is this, as long as you use any program that is against the neopian rules and conditions, then there is ALWAYS a risk of your main account being frozen. I've seen instances where accounts that have never been used to run programs get frozen. As for transferring between a side to a main. I recommend that you transfer in ETS items. Thats how I've always done it.

All the programs work wonders without advanced membership. I dropped some buck for the membership, it isn't too bad, especially if you just get one month or six. Test out the programs first. No reason to go overboard before you know what's going on. You can buy from your own shop to transfer money, trading post, anything "normal." Just be careful with side accounts on the same computer unless using a proxy, and then still be careful.

But pigs always have a chance of going to the big barn in the sky. Unless magical spider webs that have words in them appear above the pigs pen....

Use your pure to buy ETS items. Like baby pbs, honey pots, etc. Then use the tp to transfer them to your main. That is what I do.

    OK here's a short guide:

Firstly there's two ways to have illegit side accounts either with a proxy, or pretending to be part of the same family and using the same IP. 1 is easier but if the proxy isn't a good one neo can often pick this up thus increasing chance of freezing, so 2 is in the long run more reliable if you can pull it off intelligently.

If you want the money on your main that's fine but again its going to take a little time to pull off and make it as least freezable as possible. Any Np you make needs to be secured. By secured i mean kept on your account without you getting frozen for a period of time to prove that TNT are not aware. Peoples opinions on this vary but it can be anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months - the longer you leave it the better.

Then to transfer the money again you need to make it look legit, so lots and lots of gifts of expensive paint brushes on the same day will look dodgy. Try and do it again over a period of time, a couple a day if you have lots to transfer. And say for example you have a trade up to transfer a baby paint brush for 600k, instead of just offering dung, offer 600nps so if TNT did ever see it looks legit and the seller made a mistake. Also shop items for 99,999 are always good but take along time to transfer allot of nps over.

Just try and make things look as legit as possible and don't do it to quickly and you should be OK.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the help everyone!
Just to clarify, I fully expect to be frozen. It's Neopets after all. I had so many (completely legit) accounts frozen for inane reason that this time around, I see no point in going legit. I've been using the programs here very carefully for about two weeks and everything seems to be going fine, but I got a bit spooked about the lengths people seem to go to to keep their accounts safe. I just want to keep the risk as low as possible but the truth is, the way TNT runs the place is so abysmal I get a silly sense of satisfaction from cheating a little. :pirate1:

And I'd rather buy advanced membership for the next 50 years here then drop one dime on those stupid NC things.

What Georgina said. Just use your head and you should be ok.

Hmm...I dunno whether my method is highly moronic or just suicidal, but what I do is I usually use the TP to transfer the money through at least 3 of my side accounts before it enters my main. Cos the way I see it is that TNT can't freeze so many...right?

...okay, now I have doubts.

TNT, if they work out you're using a proxy OR can link your sides to your main, will freeze the lot. I got nailed for buying NP a while back. Clearly the "seller" obtained them in an illegit manner as they were promptly iced afterwards.

My view is to run a main that looks non-dodgy as possible, not to run several (because I got nailed for that too at the same time) and of course to not be compleatly legit. I never since my return :whistling:

Wrong. They can and seem to enjoy to chain-freeze. The fewer accounts, the better.

Actually, the more accounts, the better. People get frozen and make new accounts all the time. Old accounts (frozen or otherwise) don't get deleted. Neopets can show advertisers a whopping heap of user accounts instead of actual users, thus charge more for advertisements.

Meh, no idea if that's how it is, but it is a possibility.

Another possibility is that I'm seriously paranoid.

thanks for the tips guys, i thinkj i should use ETS to transfer from my sides. right now i'd trade 500K for an omelette or something lame like that. i haven't gotten frozen though, but then again its only been a week. how long does it take for TNT to freeze accounts? i nonetheless, i think i'm in the clear.
