Actress Brittany Murphy, who starred in films such as Just Married, Clueless and 8 Mile, has died at age 32.

The actress died on Sunday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near Beverly Hills, a hospital spokeswoman has confirmed.

The LA Times said Murphy went into cardiac arrest, but hospital sources would not release the cause of death.

Bad year for actors/acresses.

My girlfriend is super sad. She's one of her favorite actresses.

That brings the count to... 15 this year?

I was never of a fan of hers but to die soooo young is sad.

My husband loves her and he was telling me she has been having "issues" the last few years. So I checked around. In the past year she was fired from 2 different movies and the implication was she "blackballed" in hollywood. The theories ranged from she just sucks acting, she has an ego without the talent to back it, or (IMO the most likely) she was too much a party girl with a bad addiction.

Dying from cardiac arrest makes me think it will be a drug OD.

Wasn't she in sin ciry. That movie was pretty damn good. Even if she died of OD it always sucks when someone dies. I guess the fact that she was dropped from 2 movies means we arent really gonna miss out on any movies that she would have been in.

Yeah sin city was cool. I mean, she wasn't the greatest actress ever but its still a little sad.

I don't like getting connected to celebrity deaths too much.

If she died from an OD, she had it coming.

On another note, I don't even know who she is.

I just saw her death on the news a couple min ago, there was no update. I remember seeing just married and I did not really like it. I don't know if many people actually care about her death. I looked her up on imdb and originally I thought that she was in many more movies then she actually has been. Not that I am surprised but it is so lame how many people die from OD'ing. Such a waste, not saying she did for sure. She might just have had a weak heart or maybe it was the swine flu!

Don't celebrities die all the time? Just like regular people! Only difference is no one cares about the regular people.

One could argue that regular people die more often... there are more of us :p

Even taking into account the difference in population size, famous people have, on average, a better standard of living... though the prolific drug use may balance that out :p

Hahaha. Okay okay, so there's more than one difference between deaths of famous people and the rest of us.
Alls I'ma sayin' is this year isn't any different than last year or 2007 when it comes to celebrities dying. They die every year.

Of course, one could argue 2006 was the saddest year of celebrity deaths because that's when the loveable Don Knotts died.
