Its not great but if you have a good enough computer you can deal with it. Restarting your computer, and reinstalling your OS are two things I highly recommend on a regular basis. I restart every other day and reinstall every few months. I never have any computer problems except those I bring upon myself.
isn't reinstalling your OS really tedious and time consuming?
i think i should, but you have to backup all your data first yeah?

Man i do too sometimes its really not good. I try to shutdown everyday
Multiple times a day if i can. I dont know if thats bad or not lol

i believe it has to do with HD spins. The more your HD spins the more likely it is to screw up. that's why its better to leave it on i beleive or asleep im not too sure. turning it on and off will greatly increase your chances of your computer crashing.

Yeah, the longer the hard drive is left powered, the higher the probability that a disk surface defect is going to happen.i believe it has to do with HD spins. The more your HD spins the more likely it is to screw up. that's why its better to leave it on i beleive or asleep im not too sure. turning it on and off will greatly increase your chances of your computer crashing.
I don't like keeping the computer powered for longer than a day or two, haha. Putting it to sleep is usually the thing I do at the end of the day instead of shutdown.
As for a restart, I'd probably go for a week until I would do a full restart, either because I installed something or I just felt like doing it, lol.

Wait - sleep mode is superior to shutdown?
Never. Shutdown is better.

I prefer Hibernate over Standby or Restart (even if you have 4GB of ram) because I can still safely change most (not all) hardware on my laptop and computer.
