Advanced membership grants you access to some of the more useful features of the ABer here (though it's still useful w/o the extra features) and grants you access to some other special things.

To get it, you just have to post 500 non-spam messages on the boards, OR pay for it via subscription.

No, this is a helpful forum, since you are a new member and all.

A spam message would be replying something as simple as "lol" or "that's cool" or "very nice"

A good rule to follow is to make sure your reply continues the conversation. It's pretty hard to keep a convo going if you reply back as "awesome" or "haha funny."

In a "funny" topic, however, where there are pictures or funny stories, saying "lol" is fine, but make sure you write more than just that. In my book, as long as the post has SOME significance to the topic at hand, and is at least 5 words long, it's usually not spam :)

Meh, a helpful post can be a single word and a relevant link. Spam is hard to define, unless your posts annoy people to the point where they are going to get reported, it's not really an issue

    And welcome to the board!

Well, ya. As long as it relevant to the topic at hand. If the topic is "do you have a million dollars," a "no" answer wouldn't be spam. But in a debate topic, a simple "no" is spam IMO at least lol

Don't forget digging up old threads and posting something too. As well as posting like 100 posts per-day that's just like :whistling:!

I really don't see anything wrong with gravedigging if you have something new and relevant to add, especially if the old topic helps give it some context. Otherwise we inch ever closer to becoming the Neoboards *shudder*

i think it'd be better to start a new thread about the old topic and link the old topic in the thread.
personally i wouldn't want to go through the pages of old posts just to get to a gravedugged post at the end of the thread.

Lol... yeah, what if it's a relevant topic that you actually have something to contribute to? Hmm...

Except most of the time the person who gravedigs has nothing great to add to the old topic and just looks like an unintelligent poster.
