Stop me if this has been suggested before, but wouldn't it be useful to have a system like the Lab Zap tracker for the Moltara Worms quest? I think it'd be useful to track when they appear for who and maybe try and predict when they'll pop up, see if there's a pattern, something like that. I'm doing it as a daily now and I've been keeping track of when I find them, but maybe it'd be useful to pool our data?

Neopets has confirmed in the Editorial that the worms are totally random.
No point tracking something totally random.

I missed that editorial, I was still going of a vague rumor that said they appear every five minutes blah blah blah. But right, no point to it then.

What about a neolog for dailies that give things like the blue grundo? Sort of like the lab ray one where people can input what they got from him?

I got my first set of worms and then found my first Red Moltite. I then went back to the lamp shop and got my wearable lantern and all my worms escaped. It was very slow going to get back to nine worms, but for many days (I believe well over a week, maybe two) I haven't seen a Rainbow Worm. My other worms are currently in my Gallery so that they don't accidentally get stolen from my Inventory by a Random Event. Is there anything I can do to improve my odds of seeing a Rainbow Worm? ~chularose
Rest assured, we feel your pain as far as trying to capture those elusive Rainbow Worms. Unfortunately there isn't anything you can really do to improve your odds except keep a sharp lookout. Our own Dragona went a week and a half without one sighting of a Rainbow Worm, then found one right away for the next three days in a row. It's all random luck.

Yes, completely random. So random, in fact, that I have yet to receive the rainbow and black worm...
