I've logged on my old RuneScape account like 2 months ago and i'd rather say that the game has turned kinda shitty. No trading, no wilderness, i mean wtf is that? I used to enjoy the old RS, but still i'd rather stick to WoW or even Lineage 2.

Going into a guildie group with full rune + 1 or 2 guys with abyssal whips into the wildy to kill dragons and other players was priceless

lol neopets for sure its more addicting even though runescape has a better multiplayer interface

I played Runescape for maybe 2 weeks back in high school.
A dude in one of my classes lent me a really good hatchet for chopping down trees (wanna call it a rune hatchet) and so I spent most of my time chopping down trees. Everybody around me didn't know wtf I was doing. I quickly got bored though.
I never did give it back to him. Haven't played since.

Neopets, on the other hand, I've played on and off again for years.
My little sisters have already gone through a neopets phase and wonder why I, their fairly older brother, am still playing such a game. It is what it is.

Runescape was awful. Tibia was infinitely more immersive before 2008. Imagine the whole community is at war not because the developers are creating some gimmicky battle where everyone has to team up to take down a boss. But because of a general grudge and competition between two major guilds. One unwarranted player kill can lead to hundred of people fighting. You had to make peace treaties or claim neutrality. I loved it until they started trying to become more like WoW.

Runescape is fun until you've done all the quest, after those it's just all repeated action.

I played Runescape for more than 6 years, and it's a lot more sophisticated than Neopets. Free trade and wildy are back by the way, which is the only reason I still play occasionally.
The only problem with Runescape is that there's just too much grinding, and without a good bot you will be bored to hell and back, as 90% of the game is just training your stats.
However, if you have a good bot and you're in a reputable guild then the game is actually quite fun. Neopets is more fun though.

If anyone is a hardcore RS player, I've got two accounts up for sale. I used to play, lost 86mil staking so I quit. I have a main w/96 Str, among other things of course, and a SICK AZZ PURE. 60/79/1 w/ 91 Magic, 79 Range, 66 Combat, Up to Mith Gloves RFD, DT and MM complete, 11 prayer. It rapes.

In all seriousness, I'd pick neopets. In runescape, you have no excuse for playing it. With neopets, I could just simply state
that it improves my adaptability and knowledge of computer science, indirectly learn economics, and learn different styles
of graphic design. I can't make any epic excuses for runscape.

Obviously Neopets since I'm here and not on RuneCodex or something. I agree with whoever said up there that they can't really tell their friends about playing Neopets, but then again I wouldn't be telling my friends if I were playing Runescape either, hah.
