    LMFAO! This is priceless.

The dumb cunts are trying to trick you into writing properly for them so they can go elsewhere and scam others with it. Rofl. Seriously. These guys spend way too much time "thinking outside the box" to get people to fall for their scams. They should use the basic fucking method to survival: get a job.

You will have to correct the texts with a perfect english

If you open a word document in a text editor you will see a whole bunch of bullsh in the headers and formatting and such.

Formatting is much more "expensive" storage-wise than plain text.

No argument there. I hate them too. But is HD space really that much of a precious commodity? What, its gotten down to like $0.10 per gig hasn't it? If not less?

It's not about the price per gig that concerns me. I'm small fry and they still manage to rip me off by this bullshit extra size they require. It all adds up.

    Yeah.... Way to be stupid.

In word, you know how you can make special fonts, bold certain parts, change your margins, and do about 200 extra things? Thats where the extra file size comes from. It cant MAGICALLY know that you bolded the title, it has to save that money SOMEWHERE.

To get pissed over 1mb of drive space is just retarded. Microsoft isnt fucking money hungry. They control the OS market, which gives them more then enough money to do whatever the fuck they want.

What am I making that requires such fancy settings?
Lets create a border with pretty pink flowers with an over the top opening header that's full of colours & shadows and such.

^ It's useless shit. Really, who does that stuff? I'm not creating a fucking presentation with MS word. If I wanted to do that fancy shit I'd use power point and not a text document - "text" being the keyword. No fucking images.

Maybe I am stupid, but that shit is just pointless. Majority of the features MS products can offer are useless in my eyes.

    Microsoft isnt fucking money hungry

    Bullshit.
They were trying to purchase google for the sole purpose of making money. It's a business. The goal of a business is to make money. Why wouldn't they? If my view / opinion meant shit and I was working for MS my main goal would be to increase profit margins while maintaining the new line of products.

Then don't use them, simple as that, don't go complaining about them.

Besides, why complain about room? The amount of space you can buy nowadays voids any reason to worry about it unless you have tons of files that are multiple Gigabytes in size, but nobody would have that unless you have, say, a large array of games.

I never said ANYTHING about Pictures. Go and get Open Office, and save your shit? Its going to take up the same space. As I already explained. IF YOU WANT TO BOLD SOMETHING, ITALIZE, OR DO ANYTHING. ANYTHING. Other then straight up text. its going to make more size. Microsoft Word as designed for be used in a Business Envitorment, and includes images if you wish to have them, but also enables the most basic, like Underlining, and Bolding, and everything else.

If all you want is direct text, nothing bolded, then your going to have a larger file size.

Your getting pissed about nothing. Its stupid.

Microsoft IS money hungry, but you can't blame them. It's the name of the game! :p

Besides there are much better examples of space consumption on windows. winsxs being the winner in my books.

I get pissed because it's a piece of crap yet the whole population seems to have a copy of it.

Of course doing more things than just plain text is going to be more space consuming. My point is that if you're using MS word it seems to be more space consuming than if you used a plain notepad for the same information.

Elindoril - I don't use it anymore unless it's basically mandatory.

    Actually, scammers can make THOUSANDS...

    From here

For the most part these criminals are not, "poor people trying to scratch a living", but are indeed very prosperous compared to their law-abiding countrymen, and many operate in highly organised, and highly successful criminal gangs. Millions of dollars are stolen on a DAILY basis, with absolutely no thought given to victims, who are losing vast amounts of money, homes, relatives, jobs and worse. Contrary to popular belief, it is not just "greedy & stupid people" that fall for these scams.

But this latest attempt is very worrying. I might post it up on 419 eater. If they know Americans/other native speakers are correcting mistakes, then it could make it a lot harder to distingush between scam and honest emails (especially with romance scams).

That's because "plain notepad" is plaintext. Therefore it takes up less space. That is the entire point. And also, it isn't the same information. There is information in a word document that you cannot see that is still being saved and added into the filesize. Also, word saves by default in .doc or .docx which automatically uses up extra space by being a proprietary format. Those aren't good for society either.

If you don't use word or microsoft products then why the hell are you complaining about something that isn't a/your problem?

Word is definitely not a piece of shit. It has over 10,000 different things that you can do. Its extremely powerful, and extremely easy. I have no ideal what your taking about. Why does everyone have a copy of it? Because it works, and does everything they want.

Word doesnt take up more space then other word processors. Sure, it takes up more space then Notepad, but thats because it does 10 million times more.
