I'm in the market.

You see, I'm going to college so my career won't involve this:

But to pay for it I've got to wear one of these:

I hate capitalism. But one good thing is you can always advance. Which is what I'm in the market for.

Discuss your employment situation. Or a specific type of unemployment called frictional unemployment, which is actually healthy in an economy.

PS unemployment in the US is hovering around 10%. So everyone knows the greatest country in the world isn't so great.

I'm a pharmacy technician. For some reason we're required to wear scrubs. Scrubs are NOT flattering, and because I'm very thin I have a hard time getting the drawstring on my pants tight enough to stay up.
A collared shirt with a logo sounds real good to me. :p

I get paid pretty decent though, and seems to me people will always need their pills double-counted and their insurance contacted, so there's job security.

Everywhere I go to apply, they aren't even hiring, so I get to wait months to get a call, and I'm moving away from everything I applied to soon, which just means it will require more effort just to get to my job before I do anything.

Ah well, time to live it up Hikikomori style until then.

Currently on a form of "Sabbatical". I switched jobs and the new job is giving me a portion of my salary to go to school for roughly 6 months. One month left if I pass everything?!?!

Otherwise I work in a lab.

Despite our government running a budget deficit, I'm going to still be using their R&D money -- working in a nanotechnology research lab this summer. :p

I just got back from a 6 month internship. I got paid $1000 a month, and I was (pathetically) very lucky. Most of my classmates couldn't even find firms willing to take them, even at less than minimum wage.

I graduate with my Masters in Architecture next summer. I really hope things turn around in the next year because the architecture job market is awful. AWFUL. Last time I checked architects have the highest number of job losses of any group. In 2008 unemployment for architects was hovering around 1-3%.....now it's 10-13%.

    I'm in the military, I wear a uniform :p

I was in the same boat less than a year ago though. Zero money for college, couldn't keep a local job to save my life (was economy's fault), and really didn't have many options. Luckfully the government is usually always looking for bodies.

Scratch that last statement, as of right now I have over 10,000 people who are hoping and wishing for me to drop out of A School. At least for the U.S even the Navy is hard to get a job with :p Pretty sad.

I was told similarly over a year ago. The jobs were drying up quick.

Apparently the Army always needs bodies, though

I am a currently unemployed mother of a 9m daughter and am dreading the day to return to work cause I want to watch my girl grow up. So I was actually hoping when I saw the title that there would be a list of online jobs available for moms who want to stay at home. After reading the first post my hope was crushed *sniff*

I wear jeans and a decent t-shirt (Nothing inappropriate, I do have to deal with customers <_<. The t-shirt can be beat up, but as long as it isn't inappropriate its all good) to my warehouse job. In the summer I can sometimes get away with wearing shorts too (Probably against some law, but since I was 1 of only 2 warehouse employees I think we'll be fine. ;)).

Your going to kill us all...

I can wear whatever I want to my job as long as there is no gang signs or inappropriate content as I dont physically interact with customers. I'm also paying my way through college.

Really? On my internship I enjoyed dressing up--it made me feel like an adult. Of course, the office was really casual and I was the only one regularly wearing nice slacks/skirt and a button-down shirt..... But maybe after a few years I would get sick of it and long for my college days of sweat pants and t-shirts.

I have a bachelor's degree but would be lucky to have a job anywhere right now. I've applied to so many places and have received no job offers, calls, or anything.
