You don't watch TuF for the fights. You watch it for the drama.

Not me, really. I know they have a dramatic element to it to draw in the reality show crowds, but when it all boils down I'm in it for the fights. If the fight is shit I feel like I wasted my time watching the episode.

Its sort of stupid that they pit Ortiz and Liddell against each other in TuF but not in the octagon. Ortiz can never be knocked out too many times.

Isn't that usually in the Live Event Finale?

The top 2 fighters and the 2 coaches?

I remember it was always like that back in the day.

P.S. I love how Dana White said "There's no way Liddel will win with those picks"... but what has he consistently done so far(except once)?

It was supposed to be Liddell vs Ortiz but Ortiz got switched out for Rich Franklin for some reason.

No, I'm watching The Ultimate Fighter for the fights :x3:  The drama is a side thing.

IMO, first episode was best.

Fight fight fight fight fight.... with a tiny bit of backstory in between? The fights were closer together than actual events. Of course it was good.

Also that dude's broken nose and the abuse it kept taking was pretty epic.

TuF fights involve as much skill as bar fights though...

except for the occasional prodigy but thats rare.

If they had a show called Ultimate Bar Fighter, I would watch it. Pure fighting only. Maybe some minimal drama where the guys try to outdrink each other first.

they involve a lot more skill, last fight for example, the guys went all out the first round, and ended up wrestling for the next 2 rounds since they were 2 tired.

Agree.

This type of fighting, on the other hand, does not require more skill:

One of the highlight videos I found showed a guy executing an armbar, but I haven't been able to find the actual "fight" video though

Well.. armbar would be possible.. it would be the armbar you execute on your friends while in class when they annoy you; you grab their wrist with two arms, drag it around u, then slam your elbow at their joint.

anyway, it doesnt simulate a real fight at all.. its just stupid.

But Sylvia sucks now..

how do you go 16-0 and even have the belt and then suddenly then lose it ALL? He lost to someone that lost to KIMBO SLICE! maybe its the Fedor effect.. he destroys those he fight.

Hehe, I don't really care for either of the two fighters. But Pudz is friggin huge and ripped. Think Alistair Overeem, but more steroids. Except he only has 1 MMA match experience. More of a freak fight than anything.

Also, Pudz sounds awesome:

"Mariusz Pudzianowski faced off against fellow MMA newcomer Marcin Najman in a heavyweight match-up in Warsaw, Poland as the headliner for KSW XII. Mariusz won the fight in 0:43 of the first round by tap-out due to punches and leg kicks.
The Pudzianowski-Najman fight was one of the most anticipated Polish fighting sport events in years.

Before the fight Mariusz said: "Lewa ręka niesie za sobą śmierć, a prawej sam się boję." (English: "The left hand brings death, but the right one even I am afraid of.")"

Sounds like Cro Cop's "Right leg, hospital; left leg, cemetery."
