People in those kind of positions are educated enough to understand the processes which cause earthquakes, the problem is that they're also educated enough to understand how many other people don't have that knowledge. If Israeli hit-squads were ordered to go after these people the world would be a much better place.

Actually. Most cures are discovered either by taking wild guess's, or entirely by accident. If they haven't injected a cancer patient's blood with Children's tears yet, then they are not trying hard enough.
