So...

Do sports actually improve your chances of getting into college?
How many languages do they usually look for?
How many APs?
Unweighted GPA? :o
Is transferring better than just trying to go in?
Does playing an instrument actually help?

Im aiming for Berkely/Stanford o___o
Ivy League if I can :\

I will try to do my best to answer:

Do sports actually improve your chances of getting into college? they can be enormously important if it's a sport they recruit for. a harvard admissions director actually came to my high school to try to get this one kid to come from our football team, as if a full ride wasn't enough.
How many languages do they usually look for? optional. 1 should be enough
How many APs? depends on your school. for an ivy usually at least 4-5+
Unweighted GPA? :o top 10 in your school. think 3.90+
Is transferring better than just trying to go in? no, well not for ivies at least. their transfer acceptance rates are very very low - except for penn.
Does playing an instrument actually help? yes, again like sports it depends how good you are.

Although rep doesnt do anything, repped.
Would you say for sports/instruments it would be more of a time-commitment thing? and when you say good you mean like the best at school?
Do volunteer hours make a big difference?
And do those leadership (like President of your grade those things) make a big difference??

But dont jobs look at colleges?
usually they stop caring if you've worked quite a bit, but companies really do want people from Ivy League

My cousin went to MIT for two years and then got a job while still in college.
He earns more than my dad who is a doctor :\

Actually yes some people do mind when minor things are corrected. Once in a while is alright, if it's a terrible typo (like tabel instead of Table) but not all the time like I've heard/seen. Also the raging on "spam" is earning you a lot of angry co-members. [/end helpfulness]

    No, not at all.

Who the hell talks like that? That sort of typing would give me a migrain and yes, correcting is okay, but honesty, correcting the spelling of words such as "Realize" as long as you can tell what it's SUPPOSED to be, why bother yourself?

Man College seems weird in the states, all I have to do is do the right classes in High School and can hop off to whatever course I want, none of this GPA nonsense.

Yes I saw the 'daemon', and others. But just common misspellings where you can still tell what the person meant to say? I don't know about everyone else but half the time I don't even notice that sort of stuff.

Mind giving us some info about yourself? (School-wise)
i.e. are you a freshman, current GPA, is your high school one of those nice public ones? or private?
You don't have to give a name, but some idea of ranking would be helpful.
What state do you live in?
    What are your current extracurriculars?
Have you taken AP's, IB's, college courses in highschool?
How high is your writing skill?
SAT score? SAT II scores & how many? (if you took)
Anything "special"? (I mean are you native American or some race/ethnicity/gender combination that would increase your chances of admission?)
Since your dad's a doctor, I assume financial aid is also not a problem for you.

This will help in evaluating your chances and in giving you advice for how to progress etc.

Would you say for sports/instruments it would be more of a time-commitment thing? and when you say good you mean like the best at school? Yes. For instruments and sports if you're ok it will help but won't make that big a difference. If you are spectacular (best in school) it will help enormously.
Do volunteer hours make a big difference? It can. Volunteering was my big thing in high school - I did over 500 hours and got a governor's award. You have to choose between instrument/theater, volunteer, or sports as your main thing because that's probably what your essay and recommendations will be about. If you can do more than 1 more power to you, but you should be very strong in at least 1 for the ivies. It also depends what your major is. Volunteering is an obvious sell for things like pre-med. Choose what you like to do and what you're good at because you want to be the best in your school at it and not just one of the herd.
And do those leadership (like President of your grade those things) make a big difference??
Just get a couple of these. They can be exaggerated too - just make sure you have some there because everyone applying to those schools has a few. Everyone lies/exaggerates here so unless you did something crazy this is just a filler section.

What did you do as volunteering? Right now I just work at a soup kitchen and play chinese chess and mahjong with elders at the Senior Centor
All I did for leadership is make a club :\

    Idk.
I wanted to do Computer Science (Hardware) but I get easily pissed off debugging.

"The Lymphatic System was created because God realized too late that because of osmosis, humans need a whole new system to collect that water, kind like in C++ when I have to create a whole new 50 line function or method just to deal with some stupid error that comes up in the rest of my code."

college courses do look good. i would recommend college level math. my school had multivaraiable calc after AP Calculus so I was able to take that. See if you can take multivariable calc or differential equations senior year.

Participation in competitions looks good for engineering. There are a LOT of tech/engineering competitions at the high school level. ask a teacher to recommend you.

I see. From San Francisco here.

Also, if you're in a public school, it's super important to stay towards the top of the class. Within the top 10% definitely.
