I am kind of surprised but unless I skimmed through too quickly nobody brought up anything by Alexandre Dumas who has to be one of my favorite authors... Without a doubt... So much so that I've read most of his works translated in Portuguese as well :lookaround:

sweeney when did they release the last book i've been trying to find it for ages. Beyond a doubt keys to the kingdom is a good read. Though i think it was made for teenagers

March, I believe. I got it ages after it was out though.

    TWILIGHT Posted Image

I'm big enough to admit I somewhat enjoyed the first Twilight book. I never understood the attraction Edward and Bella had towards each other. I mean, I guess he thought she smelled like a delicious steak, and she thought he was cute, and that's enough for the reader to be convinced they can't live without each other. I was interested enough to read the entire series, although now I look back on it as a complete waste of my time.

    Will you marry me?

I've thought about it for a while, and yes, I believe I will. I think you'll find you can't live without me, because I smell like a delicious steak.

Some of my favorites in no particular order:

Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera (all of his books are fanatastic, go read them now)

Franny & Zooey, JD Salinger (2 short stories, highly underrated)

Catcher in the Rye, JD Salinger

A Song of Ice and Fire, George R.R. Martin

    Ender Series, Orson Scott Card

Candide, Voltaire (sarcasm and satire done right)

Discourse on Arts and Sciences, Jean-Jacques Rousseau (he hates on everyone, very funny)

The Prince, Machiavelli (learn how to take over the world!)

Lolita, Vladmir Nabokov (really well written but you'll feel bad for liking it :/ )

    American Gods, Neil Gaiman

    The Sandman Comics, Neil Gaiman

The Sacred Book of the Werewolf, Victor Pelevin (some of the best modern Russian fiction out there)

and many more, but I'll save those. ;)

My computer has been out of commission for a bit and during that time I have read a handful of books, I will now convey the books I have completed so that you may know what I've read and if they are any good. *clears throat*

    Stephen King:
Cell - Pretty fucked up, at first I thought it was sort of like RE spread by cell phones, but it gets more complicated the further into the story you get.
Bag of Bones - This one is pretty good, it holds within its pages, a minor tad of Romance, a bit of comic relief, paranormal phenomenon with the feeling of doom, and a bit of a mystery.
Just after Sunset - A collection of short stories, they are all pretty good, my favorite is "N." if not "Hell Cat".
Tommy-knockers - Havent finished this one yet, but so far it seems to have a UFO which is part of the reason it's unfinished, I don't care much for plain scifi. (I like horror, comedy, and fantasy on general prenciple)

    Terry Pratchett:
Unseen Academicals: This is the only book at our library I hadn't read before and I'm sadly disappointed in the book. To me it doesn't feel like he's really the one writing it. If there are any other Pratchett fans out there read it and tell me if you agree with me on this.

In the meantime I'm gonna go through the list of books mentioned and see if any of them strike my fancy, and I just might try out Twilight and see if I hate it as much as the average person.
(Maybe those that claim to love it actually hate it as much as everyone else and just claims its great in hopes of sharing wasted time.... )
