You say that Rob, then they go and lose to Serbia.I said from the start that Germany will do good this time even without Ballack playing and so far so good but coming from England I shouldn't be saying that but it's true lol. England just can't play together on the pitch simple as and it's a shame they have the talent they just step on each others toes in my opinion. Here in England everyone has gone football mad and it is really nice to see that for once its the only time we can. So far with all the shock results I don't think nothing will go to plan and 2 outsiders will probably be in the final unless after the group stages everyone puts the real effort in and passion for their country's which will be alot better to watch!

I actually hope they lose to Serbia, I'm rooting for USA to make it out of the group.

Italy just drew with New Zealand. Defending champions against a team of part timers and players from lower division leagues. Rory Fallon currently plays for Plymouth Argyle ffs...That's how lowly ranked the New Zealand team are, they have internationals now playing in League One. Yet they draw with Italy. A stupid number of upsets this tournament.

How are the upsets stupid? The whole point of the tourney is to win. You can't fault the underdog for trying.Italy just drew with New Zealand. I want to watch Portugal smash N. Korea tomorrow, and Spain v. Honduras might be a good show (not because of Honduras of course). Then Tuesday has France's downfall, which is disappointing but still funny. And Wednesday we'll find out who between US and UK has better local born talent. Undoubtedly England pays for the best players for the Premier league, but by sheer population the US should have some soccer stars.
Also, I need to pay a bit more attention to Switzerland. They won their first match of the cup, but because they're in Group H they aren't getting the coverage that other teams (S. Africa, Argentina, England, Germany, Italy Brazil etc) have because of their group status.
Highlight reels aren't enough anymore. Must... have... futbol!

I absolutely agree with this. Refs = (#*$&$)!$#@#%), but that's always kind of always been the case. Vuvuzela is new effed up shit that makes my head hurt through the TV (fuck it must blow for the people at the actual stadiums). The ball (like always) makes defensive players hate it with a burning passion...and offensive players are all confused about how to kick it proper. But the upsets are actually an interesting change. There usually area a few upsets in the first round & the Round of 16, but this WC seems surprisingly surprising, of course I'm 98.2% sure that a South American or European team will win it all (again like always). The 1.8% is my love for the US which blinds me to reality
