I've wondered about this for a while, but how do those "malls" that people put together of huge shops with thousands of items work?

How do they get so many items? Do they actually go and one by one buy multiples of items and put them in their shop? And then price them all?

Do they use bots? I feel like they would have to, but wouldn't Neopets be aware of so many bots? =/

Are they even recently priced or do they just throw random overpriced prices on them?

What's the point; do they make a lot of profit?

I mean, I know there are nubby people that don't seem to use the shop wizard and just go into random shops and buy stuff. (Seriously, what's the point of the shops neoboard?)

I hope someone could enlighten me as I'm a bit confused. :)

Thanks!

Malls sell items for a premium so they can afford to buy things from other shops which are lowest on the shop wiz and add X amount rather than restocking them themselves.

Malls used to be affective with the old layout where noobs were being directed to the malls. Now that the malls are hidden on the side of Neopia Central( either next to the Bazaar or the other one) they aren't as effective.

The whole point is to sell overpriced items to people that don't use the SW. Profitable? maybe, I remember it being really profitable but I don't think so anymore.

Malls buy from my shop frequently. The concept is that you get a category that people will buy multiples of, like gourmet foods, books, clothing, etc.

Then you price a few of your items at the lowest on the wiz, then price the rest competitively, but a little higher.

When someone comes to your shop for one item, they may see another that they want and purchase that too. Profit on the lowest item and more profit on the other items ;)

Works well on me with codestone too. I buy the cheapest, then just buy a bunch of them xD

I don't care if it's a few thousand more, I make more than enough lol.

Some Malls buy items for Faerie Quests and they frequent the boards. The boards are where some of the richest neopians gather and chat. Without shamelessly advertising your shop, they will take a peek at your lookup and sometimes your shop and they see that you got all the faerie quests items, they might just bookmark you for future stuff :)

Basically members of a guild or board or neofriends come together and each of them sells their own thing but in a mall setting (books, toys, potions..) For newbies who doesn't know their way around and the usefulness of SW, they just buy anything they need for FQ and own use even though they're mostly horribly overpriced (they do have to pay for shop size extensions you know). It's a mall, it has everything you will need
