Sounds like a plan!
I was hoping maybe id be so high off the gas and air i wouldnt care about the blood. We shall see. No babys yet so its cool lol.
Wow your just as bad as me >_< no fun is it.
Coming to? No, but before I woke up I thought I was on a roller coaster..
They can put you to sleep for c-sections?! I was told that they wanted you conscious for it! Which is absolutely vile - I'd rather not be awake when I'M BEING CUT OPEN, THANK YOU. Can they put you to sleep without needles with the gas thingy? If so, this is possibly the best news ever! I have always wanted to have a kid but I'm ridiculously afraid of needles - I actually tried to flee before having the six needle pre-test for the TB jab - so this would be awesome. Also, do they hook you up to the IV before or after you're under?
But what does being conscious have to do with scarring? Or are you talking about the unbelievably gross natural method as a way of avoiding it?
Ahem. +1 for you for possibly making my year.
Sorry, just saw this. There is some pain to it, like you still have to have an IV which they insert before your asleep (on the bright side, all the needles will be put into the IV rather than into you), and the sleeping medicine they inject in it makes the arm they put it in hurt so bad it feels like its being crushed by a truck. The doctor gave me an option to be put to sleep, I never heard you had to be awake for it, but when he told me they could I jumped for it cause I was so scared and nervous about it.
Well if they could keep you conscious for natural birth you won't have to do a c-section, which will leave a scar on your stomach. It'll be in the cutting area, but will shrink a little bit. (I got what is called a bakini cut).
When you come to though your stomach will hurt a lot, but not for very long. It'll still hurt for a few days too, but never as bad as when you wake up from being put to sleep. (They can't put you to sleep AND give you pain-killers, that's the only reason it hurts so much).
I had no choice on the c-section, the doctor told me that if it wasn't for the ultra-sound she wouldn't believe I was pregnant cause my cervix hadn't dilated (thinned/expanded to allow the passage) ANY. I was afraid that natural birth would hurt one or both of us if I tried it. (However, cause of where the c-section took place at, I can try natural next time if it dilates)
