It cost £800 including VAT, I'm sure you could get it cheaper in America.

It's a great price considering the specs. And worth it since it's going to be my central hub for my E-life for the next few years.

Where did you buy that from? I've had the same laptop for about 4 years now and while it's still going strong (aside from a broken down arrow key) I might start looking for a new one.

PC world. I normally wouldn't go for a computer I didn't build myself, but I know nothing about laptops, so I just went to my nearest PC world. Luckily they had one left in stock.

Yeah it's usually best to buy a laptop rather than build one yourself -- at least from what I've experience.

Great buy for a laptop with that kind of processor though. The RAM might be a little toss up, but hey it's a TOSHIBA.

Something like that. I remapped my right-shift key to be my down key, so now my up arrow is below my down arrow. :p

how much ram is suggested now for normal use i.e. not playing graphically intense games? i was thinking about upgrading how much ram i have and you have 4g and plan on upgrading to 8g. i know ram is cheap but for using the internet and some low quality graphic games what would you suggest?

4g of ram is still plenty for today for web surfing and gaming. Web surfing doesn't require a lot of ram, you can websurf even with a 1ghz computer with 512mb ram without it being too sluggish. It's just...all the other processes you have to run such as your AV software that might slow it down.

It comes with a mid range dedicated graphics card unit so you can't really expect the battery life to be that high. Pretty good laptop good enough to play most games in med settings. Judging by the screen size as well I take it this is a desktop replacement laptop for you?

I never understood the purpose of a laptop with that little of a battery life. I mean, if it's gonna be plugged in all the time, why not just get a tower?

Specs look good regardless, hope it doesn't have any overheating issues.

If there was a laptop with no battery, I would get it. I need a computer for various things but I just can't lug my desktop around, but where I need a laptop, there are plenty of outlets available.
