heavy situation. i guess that things happen in life, usually for no good reason, and theres nothing that we can do to change it. people die, and yeah its terrible, especially those that are young and have their whole liuves ahead of them, but at the same time, if it wasnt that person, it would be another, and theres always going to be some sort of background context that makes their death sad. its terrible, but we have to accept that people in life come and go, and death is an inevitable ending. anyway, regardless, give it time, and stay strong, im sure things will get better.

Sad to say some people couldn't read the sub title:

To all the non-trolls, thank you so much for your concern. I haven't slept in a while and I had tons of blood drawn today, so this post will be short, but I'll post a longer reply tomorrow.

Cody, thank you for the reply. I am sorry to hear that you had to be so strong for your family and couldn't express what you were feeling, but at the same time, I'm glad that you were able to provide the support they needed at such a trying time. I'm sure that boy's mom and sister felt some sense of comfort by my randomness, but I cried just as much as they did so I don't think I provided the image of strength. But since they didn't know me, I think the tears helped me get into their hearts a little bit and helped them to allow me into their grieving process.

I've always been able to "sense" other people emotions. I mean, whenever I'm around someone that's feeling any emotion very strongly, I always feel the same thing. If one of my friends is incredibly happy, I can't stop smiling and laughing at every little thing. If I see someone in extreme emotional pain, I can feel their pain. I can almost see it radiating around them, and when the pain is deep enough, I just can't control myself. The same goes for any other emotion too. Jealosy, anxiety, rage, etc. The stronger the emotion, the stronger the attachment I feel to the emotional situation. Not sure if that's a bad thing or not.

Ok now I've gotta get some sleep. I'll extend this reply tomorrow.

By the way, people quit trolling on my thread. Seriously. This isn't the right thread to increase your post count. I don't care about the rules of the internet, just stop.

I'm certain we all read it. But asking people to only say nice things is practically begging for people to be dicks. It's the nature of the Internet.

+1 for that. Not that I myself want to be a dick. It's just recognizing the nature of reality.

Do something about the trolls man. :(

    What, like ban them?

Don't be a jackass man, it's called freedom of speech. Or the limited form of it practiced at neocodex. We don't protect hate crime. But that's about it.

A certain amount of empathy is a good thing. But your own emotions should not be held in check by another's like this. You say you can feel their emotions - is it compulsory? In other words, could you not feel as they do? Because then it is a simple matter of moderation.

I wish i had something more helpful to say to you but i'm pretty emotionally retarded (like your boyfriend) so this is the best i got:

I know how it feels to feel like you have no one in the world to talk to. It's probably the worse feeling ever. It's terrible feeling that way all the time on a daily basis and I can't even imagine what it's like to see what you did. So, if you ever need somebody to rant to don't hesitate to message me.

Oh god i tried writing more but i failed so hard. I'm such a shitty female. Well, my offer still stands, if you just feel like venting or something.

That's sad, my condolences to that family. It is good you're doing something nice and that you offered a bit of your comfort and compassion in their time of need, good for you.
I don't think I could do what my mom does. She's a nurse at the childrens hospital and she sees children dying daily. It's a sad fact of life and it just tells you death can get anyone at any age, and ultimately it's inevitable. Sad.

How about no, how about you learn to live in a society, or use a function of that society in which you contribute and you cannot control what others do with that contribution? Why should I hide my feelings or opinions based on the fact that you've said "don't say something nasty blah blah", when you've posted it in a..wait for it....wait....wait... PUBLIC FORUM. Bar hate speech, intentionally insults and spam messages, we have a freedom of speech (to a degree) on this board and we can comment on how we choose. Don't dare dictate when/where/how I can converse with people just because you're an emotional sad sack.

Thanks dr. When someone is emotionally down you don't beat them to the curb.

Thank you again, everyone. I'm glad there are random people online that actually care about another random person's well-being. It makes me so happy to know that even though I don't know anyone of you personally, you still care enough to put in your two cents. Except the trolls, of course.

Cara, I do have control over it most of the time. But when the situation is as deep as losing a son, I can't control myself. Although I'm sure there are lots of people like that.

..... When i was like 7 my hamster died in my hands. It was so sad.
There. That's it. That's me being emotional.
I can't even imagine what's it like to have seen an actual child die. I hope you're starting to feel better about it, though. :(

Thanks, but no matter how bad I feel, I can't bring the kid back. So feeling bad about it now will only throw me into more emotional chaos. The fewer negative emotions the better, considering the kidney transplant.

And no iargue, however close your penis is in size to your mom's clitoris, you must remember that you're not like most people and they're two different parts.
