Today I had a math exam and when i was walking back to my dorm from class I've realized that I have made a ridiculously simple mistake... while deriving sin(2t) and cos(2t) i forgot to apply the chain rule and turn them to 2cos(2t) and -2sin(2t). This question was 1/5th of my grade... hopefully i get partial credit for doing the wronskian correctly.

    What, 20% of your mark on 2 questions which take seconds to answer?

    I'm curious as to the length of your exam.

    I'm in business math so everything is retard-level easy. Makes me mad when the teacher says "THE NEXT CHAPTER IS PRETTY DIFFICULT GUYS" and she's being totally serious.
    She gets frustrated when I miss a day because then she thinks I won't understand the material and then doesn't get it when I still get 100's.

    It's just simple word problems .___.

    But anyways, sorry to hear that. I would say I know how you feel but I guess I don't because all I have to work with is "Sally has 957.18 in her bank account and spent 14.50 today on a pair of shoes, what is the remaining balance in her account?" :'(

    I do this sort of shit all the time. Just a part of life. Best not to dwell on it and concentrate on avoiding them in the future.

    We learn by making mistakes. How strange that our society places such a great deal of negativity towards them.

    I respond well to pressure, so I test well.

    Unexpected results in an experiment are not necessarily a good thing.

    Inaccurate calculations under pressure... not so much :p

    No, this was only just a part of the exam the entire question was about finding general solution to an equation y''+9y = sin(2t). or something like that
    By the way the answer is...
    r^2+9 = 0; r = +-3i
    y_H = C_1*cos(3t)+C_2*sin(3t)
    y_1 = cos(3t); y_2 = sin(3t)
    y'_1 = -3sin(3t); y'_2 = 3cos(3t)

    W(t) = |cos(3t) sin(3t) |
    |-3sin(3t) 3cos(3t) | = -3

    y_P = -y_1*integrate(y_2*g(t)/W(t)) + y_2*integrate(y_1*g(t)/W(t))

    ans: y = y_H + y_P
