Well, as the title states, I am looking for advice with the art of job offer negotiation (Salary).
Are there any general rules I should be following in order to maximize my compensation package?
This is my first "real" job post-college and I have no idea what to do now. I received the initial offer (and will possibly be receiving a competing offer in the next couple of days). I have heard and read that it is usually not a good idea to accept the first offer, but I don't know what to do or how to submit a proper counter-offer.
