Need help: Small comment with large impact

20 January 2016 - 10:22 AM

I'm running a talk for my school (long story) and I was wondering if anyone could help me provide real-life examples of someone making a small comment that has stuck with you, whether positively or negatively, for a long time. the comment could have been just someone  teasing you, a passing compliment, or just someone saying something but for whatever reason, it has stuck with you or impacted your life significantly.

An example of a negative one, is one time I was just singing and a girl I don't know very well said "geez Chris, you're so tone deaf" (and at that time, I was considering choosing being a vocalist after i graduated high school). Minor comment, but stuck with me.

I'm trying to show the impact of simple words and how much they can affect people. If anyone has a few stories they wouldn't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it!

And for those who don't know me, hi I'm Boggart :p

What would your horcruxes be?

14 September 2015 - 01:57 AM

This is completely random but it's 5AM and I'm studying for exams

So for those who haven't read Harry Potter, a Horcrux is a physical object where you'd place a portion of your soul into and thus you are left "immortal" until someone is able to destroy all the horcruxes aka destroying all parts of your soul (it also disfigures you but let's ignore that part). So in the books, the villain would put it into a diary, a snake, a locket etc.

What would yours be? Where would you store your soul so it would have no possibility of being destroyed? Let's say max 5!

Blu-Ray Player + Netflix HALP PLZ

23 July 2015 - 11:25 AM

Hey erryone.

So I'm moving out and I'm taking my PS3 with me. My family uses my PS3 as a blu-ray player and to watch Netflix and I want to replace my PS3 with something similar so I don't completely put them out.

Basically: what are my options. It can be two separate things (such as a stand-alone blu-ray and then another option for netflix) or maybe buy another PS3 and just give it to them. Just looking for any advice since the little research I've done hasn't been super fruitful (i.e. they mostly say to buy a PS3)

Thanks, Bogs
