Paleo=/=gluten-free...

As someone who's finishing up their senior year to become a registered dietitian, I am well aware that Paleo =/= gluten-free, thank you. If you're eating clean Paleo, then you're not eating any carbohydrates unless they come from fruits or vegetables. My point in posting those links were because many of the recipes provide great substitutions when cooking so that you're not using products containing gluten. And I would hardly call Paleo a fad or a diet, because it's a lifestyle choice and one that works. I can hardly see any downfall from avoiding processed-foods, emphasizing eating grass-fed (as opposed to grain-fed) protein sources, and eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc.

The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (formally known as the American Dietietic Assocation) and the FDA recommend people consume way more carbohydrates than the body needs. Why? No one wants to admit it, but it's because it makes the food industry money. Grain products are dirt cheap to make, yet they can be marked up to astronomical prices and people buy them by the grocery cart load. So you better believe that somewhere along the lines of power, that people are getting paid to say "Oh yeah, you need X amount of carbohydrates a day."

Check out PaleOMG (http://paleomg.com/) and Petite Athleat (http://petiteathleat.../p/recipes.html). I do crossfit, so I eat pretty much 80/20 Paleo. Loveeee both of these sites for recipes and/or cooking inspiration.

Ahah. I have a Macbook Pro, so perhaps that explains part of my problem (:
