I've got a fever right now, so I can't do much..

My xyz bad-tempered step-dad tried to hit my puppy and i protected it. He always maltreats animals (and people). Last time he beat my 10-year-old brother's head and his head became softened. He is actually committing crimes but I can't do anything because he is a lawyer and my family is financially dependent on him. I am so mad now.

@Trichomes abuse victims often lie to authorities and medical staff about the nature and cause of their injuries in fear of retribution / further abuse. It's quite a vicious cycle and one difficult to break.

Not sure if story is true or not in this case but telling strangers on the internet is like an anonymous way of venting and telling someone / anyone

Yes, Josh, my questions were rhetorical. I understand it generally isn't easy getting out of an abusive situation, but making a public status about your loved ones and pets being at risk and refusing to take action is not going to gain my sympathy.
