Are the default species abilities worthwhile in BD or should I just always fierce attack?

So just ignore species abilities then?

For 1P, probably just Beserk/Defend. However, many species (esp. at 50+) have very nifty 6 icon attacks that can stack well with other icons. Shoyrus get a 3 Fire/3 Light attack, Kacheeks get 3 Earth/ 3 Light. These can come in very handy when facing specific shields, etc.
