In Topic: U.S. Soldiers are sick of it

Except all these soldiers are voluntary and knew what they were getting into when they signed up. They knew they were fighting this war and they wanted to. Those soldiers SUPPORT this war so those people are supporting the soldier's beliefs. No one was forced to fight for us.

Thank you for saying that Tet. I didn't read all of this topic, but I still feel I had to comment.

I will be kind enough to respect everyones view, but topics like this tend to make me sick. (No offense Hydro). As a former military member (Yes this does mean that I have served in the Military) I am here to say that 99% of all people that join do so to defend our country. Yes, there are some aspects of the military that might not be that great, but that does not mean that we are "sick of it"

Now as to the topic of the war. Myself and most everyone I served with were willing to stay over in the Iraq area and fight the "war on terror" for as long as we were needed, so that people like you (Americans in general) could continue to freely make topics like this.

Do I think that the war should have taken this long though? No. There were some things in the beginning that could have been done differently, but that is all in hindsight.

So should we pull all of our troops out now? I say that the answer is no. Why? If we were to pull all of our troops out now (all at once) we would lose all of the ground that so many soldiers have died to obtain.

I know that this is starting to sound like rambling, but let me sum it up for you one more time. From my experiance in the military ( yes I was in Iraq too), I can gaurantee that us soldiers are not "sick of it". We just want the bad guys to give up already. tongue.gif Hope my point of view helps a little.

P.S. Yes I did read the link I just forgot to say it in my post. Most of this little rant was in response to some of the other comments made here.

Have fun in Japan. I dont know if you will be able to bring your medicines into Japan. That all depends on customs.
As to the Age of consent question 16 is the age of consent, and 18 is the legal drinking age there. Btw I was there for 3 years not 2. tongue.gif I am very jealous of you foogie. Where in Japan are you going?
