From the news today:

We have some good news and some bad news, everyone! The good news is, we're finally going to be slowly releasing some old r101 stamps back into the economy. The bad news is, our shipment of stamps was lost in transit. Oh, it looks like Dr. Sloth has found an old crate of stamps though! What an odd coindence. It seems he'll be auctioning a stamp off once a month in order to fund his plans for his 'Grundo Reeducation Center'! Isn't that nice of Sloth to educate Grundos? And here we thought he was entirely evil. Way to go, Dr. Sloth!

Good? bad? Awesome? Do you own a r101 stamp and therefore RAGE?!

Replace r101 stamps with retired HT/cove items then yes. I don't usually hop on the investment bandwagon. Aside from avatars, stamps are the 2nd stupidest thing to collect. Some douchebag paid 400m for a retired stamp last month. Seriously?

Some people really love to throw their money away, I guess?

At least the reseller that ends up buying it won't make that much profit.

well it depends on how many r101 stamps are there and if it's randomly re-released or on a cycle ;O

but yeah definteily not like 200 mil or anything. but probably a good 50 mil

I'm not rich enough for this to affect me, so...yeah. I guess it's nice for the very few people who this will affect and TNT can pat themselves on the back for a huge point-sink.

Maybe if you're filthy-stinkin' rich.

In theory, yes. In practice, since only one is to be auctioned off a month and this one has already hit 24mil...well, it'll be tricky.

you still need hundreds of millions to acquire stamp avatars. This wont change anything for the majority, as the stamps are so expensive.

At 1 a month, its not anything to fret about if you actually have R101 stamps that you invested in. I doubt anyone actually has more then one or two, which is why they are doing this to begin with.

Damn. Some of those would look good in my gallery. I wish they would do a RE just for them.

I'm fairly certain that would wreck their value.

its a good idea as a neopoint sink to get rid of some in the economy..

but 12 stamps a year wont be too significant on overall stamp values.. who knows =p

Considering that they've been valued in the hundreds of millions... that's not that ridiculous.

Still though, I've never understood why people bid when there is plenty of time before the auction end.

Maybe It would be to discourage buyers to bid on it I guess. The reason I do it sometimes is to help me keep track of the auction, from "My bids"
