@Keil challenged me to come back for a bit to compete in a writing duel using @cassiopeiic's one shot contest as a battleground. But the writing center of my mind doesn't know from "short" and I don't deal in dragons.
So I present...
The First Ever Neocodex Poetry Contest!
(Which is hopefully not also the last...)
Opens: 22 June at 9p NST (12a ET)
Closes: 7 July at 9p NST (12a ET)
(Just in case you don't "poem on command", as I once told my mother. )
Voting Closes: 12 July at 9p NST (12a ET)
Theme: None...whatever floats your boat! (If you can write an awesome poem about your car, more power to you! I might even vote for it. )
Da Rulez
-
Maximum 1,000 words (I know that’s a really long poem, but I've seen other contests do it, so why not?) That excludes the title, by the by...just to give everyone a little leeway.
-
It can have been previously published (other contests or even the Neopian poetry competition)--had to remember to throw that in, because I'm re-using one of the poems I put in my 2012 poetry anthology.
-
Please don't include your username or anyone else’s, so that we can avoid biased voting
-
Please keep it appropriate!
-
Please ensure your poem is in English and shows some mastery of the language. Remember: your fellow Codexians have to be able to read it if you want them to vote for it!
-
PM me your entries, either in plain text or as HTML—I intend to post them on a page on my site to save space on the board
Prizes: A baby pb from @arcanum!
A $5 Neocodex store voucher from @Kord!
Special Thanks: Cass (I kind of copied your rules...haha) and @Emily, for her guide to contests, so I wouldn't miss anything.
Good luck!
