I'm sure all the academic scholars use that excuse as well.

So you're admitting you can't make any valid points and you're just resulting to insults because you're too emotionally sensitive to make a rational point.

Ok message clear as mud.
@Hawk I want to pat you on the head and ruffle your hair. Someone who actually gets the main point instead of focusing on off key points to make an argument.

Dude, I don't have to do anything. You literally defined your argument as a logical fallacy yourself. I don't think you realize you attacked your own argument for me.

If you can't fathom simple sentences, maybe online debates are not your forte.

Interesting how quickly your pretense of having a debate falls away. I'm curious where you seem to think I'm correlating ignorance with seriousness. My entire point in that post was that you have one without the other.

Do you know what a fallacy is? Just curious.

Apparently I know way better than you do. But this is not at all the topic of this thread. Just pull an Elsa and let it go.

Yeah, you haven't. At all. Once.

If a person was raped and now suffers from PTSD they may have a flashback or want to harm themselves when they see graphic depictions of rape or tv or read about them. This person may want to avoid reading and watching things that have rape in them so they don't trigger the flashbacks. A trigger warning is basically a heads up for people who are trying to avoid distressing material.

First page. The definition of a trigger.

Right? I couldn't imagine having to constantly keep track of everything I read and see. It's not like we put triggers on everything it's mostly common stuff that your average person doesn't even enjoy reading/seeing like rape, violence, incest, suicide and eating disorders.

Second page. Most common triggers.

So either you're not reading or you're trolling.

If you're looking for trigger warnings on entire shows, you're looking at stuff like Law and Order: SVU (and pretty much any crime drama), Game of Thrones, House MD, True Blood, American Horror Story, Dexter, The Following, Pretty Little Liars, Hannibal... They're all pretty obvious when you look at the basic premise of the shows.

If you're looking more fore specific episodes within shows that have potentially triggering content, I think that's a bit beyond the scope of a forum topic.  Even Star Trek has had rape on the show.

I find that very nice of you. Reminds me of a time when my friends didn't have fireworks at a 4th of July get-together because of a few vets attending, where as I would have never thought of that.

I think TV and move ratings suffice, but perhaps some people need more. I don't think there's any reason why there can't be a website/app devoted to showing tv/movies and have a bit more info about what they contain and common triggers for people. However I will say that I do hold that opinion that if someone continues to have panic attacks after just viewing certain entertainment they should probably receive counseling (if they aren't already) but I can see how someone can still be affected so much after traumatic events like war, rape, abuse etc. Not much so much a few select individuals on Tumblr who say things like they are triggered by things like meat or random words, that just seems a bit silly. However I'm a realist and I understand these individuals are a tiny tiny part of society or trolls so it doesn't mean much.

I think the website/app thing is a really good idea.

The same thing happened in my neighborhood last 4th of July, I guess because I live in a huge military town. A local store gave out signs for vets to put in their yards if they have PTSD and would suffer from the loud noises. I thought that was really endearing.

@Kat I understand your opinion. Sometimes therapy doesn't help either.

An app would be nice, but television shows that have triggers like House in season 3 or 4, it starts off with what seems to be a rape scene and has absolutely no warning of such thing happening. Seeing something like that without warning can send someone into a stress induced anxiety attack.

The hard part about no trigger warnings, is that it sends people into reliving the experience, other than bracing for it, or choosing to not to watch during that scene.

I love pomegranate. I wouldn't say they look gory at all, I guess they could possibly be mistaken for a haemorrhoid but they'd have to be massively out of context... :p

I've always longed to find a pomegranate which is just one massive aril inside, I'm always bitterly disappointed in my hunt but I keep hoping.
