I got the job. In two weeks I’m going to be a corporate law paralegal.
So...How's it going?!

I guess I should've posted this Monday, but I found out I got a job starting in July. Now I just have to wait until Friday before I find out where it is

This was actually yesterday. But I ran my first in-person support group with another volunteer from the org I work for. And oh my god, 17 people showed up. That's the most we've ever had ever and our org volunteers host local support meetings all over the US and some internationally. Only 10 people had RSVP'd. It was incredible! I saw people exchanging numbers and just seeing folks being able to talk openly about their challenges with chronic illness was really awesome. I just did not expect so many people to come and I'm so happy they did.

Found out there's a community darkroom only a few blocks from me, went last week and learned how to shoot film/develop. Went back today and the lady let me take out a camera and give me some rolls of film, pretty excited to experiment with them! Two are expired, one from '94 and one from '89 lol, so they'll probably come out very blue, or some weird way. But I'm looking forward to this new hobby

We had a meeting about student loans today. And partly because of scholarships (both undergrad and med school) and because the house I bought 5 years ago has doubled in value, rather than having $200,000 of student debt (which is the national average for med school graduates) I actually have $200,000 in equity!

My physical therapist did some manual work on my shoulder today because I have been having extra pain when I turn my head to the left. She's a really awesome physical therapist.

Someone in one of my local support groups posted a job listing, explicitly stating that the business owner told her to ask first in these groups, because they are super disability friendly. The job would be teaching water aerobics courses. I would get certified and there's no experience necessary. I wouldn't even have to teach in the pool if I didn't want to (but I want to). The only requirement is a CPR certification and being able to swim. I don't even have to be able to swim great lol. It's $15 an hour and it sounds like they are very accommodating. I would literally get paid to exercise for 2-3 hours a day. I'm so excited. I'm going on Wednesday to do one of the classes, meet the owner and the teacher who posted the listing. It sounds like an incredible opportunity for me. Q.Q

My physical therapist was able to stabilize my shoulder today but my collar bone is still dislocating! So, next time, we're gonna try a different taping method to hold it all together and stabilize everything. I'm so happy. It was much easier to do my exercises today and caused less pain. Woo.

I just saw this and I'm so happy ;_; <3
A newly discovered species of myrtle in China has been officially called "Reimu" by the Beijing Forestry University. People got in touch with them and confirmed that it was indeed named as such due to the plants resembling Reimu Hakurei's frilly red-white ribbon.
Touhou has had a special place in my heart for a long, long, long time. Seeing something like this is so wonderful! Take a look at just how pretty this flower is. It really does look like her ribbon!

Thanks guys! It has been a long road for sure, but it has definitely been worth it. Now for my 3 years of residency training...
