All I had to do was update my game.

My coworker tried, but it said it wasn't available for the US.

 

UPDATE: Battery mode kinda glitchy, still get the black screen when you have phone flipped down while in pocket. But, getting it back to regular screen doesn't let you do anything else. One way of checking is to try and rotate the view of your character/trying to access the menu. If you can't do either then close the app and relaunch.

 

Power leveled to Level 5 while walking my puppy and hitting multiple PokeStops. You need to be Level 5 to be able to access gyms whether you want to battle other teams who have established themselves at the gym or putting your Pokemon in them. Was able to put a Pidgeot that I caught in a gym. Having one Pokemon gives you 10 coins and I think 100 Exp, didn't really care about the Exp since coins is the currency you need for the menu shop so the p2w aspect of the game

I've just got my hand on this one, I was excited when I first heard about it and I am still excited now that I have it. But I can imagine that it will have alot of bugs and whatnot. Really liking it sofar. Although I haven't been able to do much since I am at work. No magnemite in my factory T_T

I saw many pokestops near me and I caught a Pidgey after Charmander.

Hours later, there is nothing on my map except the player. No poke-stops around too. Weird. Maybe I should wait for the official release of the app in my country.

 

Edit: people using the APK are having problems loading.

Since shuffle took 1 week to release to more people last year, this will likely be the same.

Yupp same here actually. With any of my devices, actually (have always used Android for my mobiles lols).

 

Will prolly try the APK download later. Right now the download fails after a while for me, I'm guessing the demand for it is also pretty high hehehe.

Seems like the main reason is that the server cannot take the load of people. Since this was supposed to be only for Aus/NZ mainly.

Server error is also giving blank maps (probably this is my issue).

Probably a bunch of glitches that I haven't experienced yet, but I do see the pokestops. Gyms and I do encounter pokemons from time to time. Although I have only been around my work place so can't really tell how buggy it actually is

I do not realy understand the message but essentially they blocked off the people from unreleased areas.

Works great for me. There was only one area of interest near work though. Guess I actually have to walk around.

Only found crap so far, Pidgey, a spearow and a bellspout. Saw the silouette of a squirtle though. Couldn't find it

Pretty certain areas with high usage of cell phones tend to have higher rarity and more pokemon encounters in general. Think like malls, actual gyms (lol), apartment complexes, fast-food places, etc. Whenever I go to the gym I see around 3-5 pokemon in the building alone and one is usually rare.

it's apparently not available for android in canada yet? 

it's supposed to be for ios but it doesn't show up on my iphone or my ipad under the iphone OR ipad option
