My online story is one of friendship, heartbreak, and the occasional fight that has torn apart entire sites.

Hi, my name is Corey. Back in the early part of the decade I was just a neopet’s user by the name of ezgoalie5. I had a good friend list, and I knew some of them extremely well. Some of them brought the idea of me to start a guild. I honestly didn’t want to start it, but because I knew it would make them happy, and it would be a place for us to talk, and even make new friends. At the time Harry Potter was the big thing in the media, so I took my best graphics friend at the time (his name was Justin) and asked him to make a harry potter guild layout. It was an instant success. Within a week I had over 400 people in the guild, and the member base was growing slowly every day. At one point I was on the top 10 list for guild members. After about 3 months of the guild (database grew to 2,500) I was asked by my head of slytherin to make an account with him (his account was gavage, he was a relatively famous guild battler of the time, his shoyru was infamous). I said no, but after a few weeks of reconsideration I told him I’d share an account with him. We were best friends for 3 years, but he went off to college, and I only talk to him once every 2 or 3 months now. We decided on the name of Icey Defeat after we used the phrase frost fight, and did a ton of synonyms in word. We loved the name, and we named the pet Icey_Defeat. To this day that pet was my favorite. He was a plushie shoyru, level 100ish, and extremely high stats. We lasted on this site for an extremely long time. I made another guild on this account (well technically I made a side account to run the guild). This account was for legit neopets millionaires. The requirement was 1 mil neopoints, and 3 unbuyable’s worth at least 250k, also a somewhat decent pet. This site was near 1000 members by the end. I met Nick (X-Factor), and shady (never joined codex) in this guild. Those two and I were friends for the longest time. Nick and I are still friends to this day.

Around this time I joined the Pink Poogle Toy forums. I was a PPT god after a few months, and made a lot of friends. I was a part of around 7 or 8 clubs, most of which are eluding me. I went under the username ‘1337 Unbuyable Restocker’ for a while because for that time I was known on neopets for my good restocking skills. For this, I met people who asked me question, such as how to restock, or how much something went for. I spent a lot of time on the AIM chat rooms for restockers, where I met BUZZ, an infamous programmer of his time. He wrote a basic main shop autobuyer, but it introduced me to the world of cheating. The one day, one of the greatest things ever happened, a user by the name of Krnsaber PMed me asking how much an item was worth that he was lucky enough to restock. The item doesn’t matter, but what does matter is to this time he’s been my longest lasting friend, and I am grateful everyday for it. I also meet a boy by the name of Aaron, who I’m no longer friends with, at PPT.

Me, nick, shady, and Aaron made a neopets account together by the name of _cans (Corey, Aaron, nick, shady). The greatest account ever, only because it was with some of my closet friends. That account was never special with its contents, but we had over 2 mil for most the time, had a legit flow of cash. It was iced, we still don’t know why to this day, but we got so pissed, and decided on cheating as the way to go.

We joined digibliss, since it was the first neopets cheating site that came up on Google when you searched. Me and nick become loyal members, and enjoyed the programs from the site. Never felt like home. So we had heard of this site called neocodex. Nick joined instantly, and people loved him right away. I honestly stayed away from the site, because neo_grl told us all it was a cookie grabber, and I liked my neopets accounts. Nick became mod after awhile, and I decided to join the site since I decided the site was legit. I had trouble fitting in but I stayed with it. I met friends over time and even picked up some programmer tricks I never knew. I become a private member after 3 months, and I started to feel like I belonged. I become a Jr. Programmer (at the time there was only two programmer ranks). About a year later I was promoted to moderator, and I felt sure that this was going to be the site I would at forever. Till nick went on his rage.

Nick got himself banned by declaring he was going to create a site. Being his best friend, I went along with him. The site was Neohaven.us. We were co-admins, but the site was under his name. I was demoted on codex to verified member, and got sad over it. I tried to balance staff on both sites, but codex, for the time, gave up on me. The site fell, never did well. We joined some neopets site; I want to say it was called redneo.info, something along those lines. It was supposed to be this huge site; it was overhyped, and never did well.

After a lot of begging I got allowed back into codex. And surprisingly enough, I was promoted to my old spot of moderator within a few months. I was so happy the staff was giving me another chance, as well as the member database for being so nice to me after I ditched them. I was soon made a retired member, and for a few years that was the highest rank I ever thought I’d get. Between then and now I’ve written over 25 neopets programs for codex, some are still there, some aren’t. Through the ages I’ve been involved with a few major incidents, one with Rodents blaming me for his computer literally burning. I had a problem with one of my programs, it used 100% CPU, and he left it on for many days and never checked it. Rodents was banned later for constantly lashing out, and causing a scene. More recently I’ve had private problems with members, all of which have ended in a good fashion, such as me and cataliste got into a tousle, and now we talk often and have become good friends. Recently I was promoted to super moderator, and have come up with ideas to improve the site, such as bringing back the e-zine, 100 post day, and a lot of other none noticeable things that just help the site run easier. Every day I get on online and try and spend 1-2 hours on the site, I take time out of my busy life for codex. Right now my life is very depressing, and for those of you who know why, I am trying to keep my private life private, and I thank all of you who have supported me. That’s my story, and I really thank you for taking the time to read this and get to know me. This essay is 1,288 words.

Amazing how life works huh? How we all sort of manage to meet each other, and it just becomes something great.
Is Nick still here?

My life on codex started out when I had just turned 12 years old. I was young, I was fat and most of all I was a huge leecher and noob. After time progressed
I got sick of downloading all these programs from authors I didn't know from a bar of soap and me being me I always like to thank somebody who does something
for me so I started posting and saying thank you to programmers. Soon enough I was comming to the site to make friends as I didn't have a large collection of them at the time
in real life.

When I went on codex my intrest for computers was rising. I had always loved the computers but I just understood more about a computer than what I did before.
I decided to take on programming and god that was a long road heh. I started out downloading vb6 and for about a month I didn't touch it because I knew nothing
about it and nobody wanted to help me until one day a jr programmer by the name of decolt offered me programming lessons. I took them up as I was very egar to
start programming. As soon as I got a fair grounding of the web browser control he left so I didn't have anyone to teach me anything else. This was the day I went
spastic adding anyone I could find and asked them if they could program. This was the day I met two of my good codex friends, Cataliste and xBullet. Both of which
could program although xBullet told me he didn't know enough to teach me although Cataliste on the other hand taught me a little string manipulation. So as time went on
I made better and better programs (even though now I look back and say n00b ! heh) I made the mistake that every 12yr old n00b programmer does and ripped source sad.gif
To this very day I'm ashamed of that but yes I will continue. I made my first enemy who soon became my friend. This was Euphoria. At the time he was a Smod and knew
quite alot more than I did at alot of things. He caught me ripping and I got warned for it. While this was going on I created a site with a guy by the name of Jakers and
another friend I made at codex called Moo. This site was called NeoBlaze. Wasn't too good. It had a mAB that Moo had brought from 3vo. As I started not liking NeoBlaze
and returned to codex I would still help Jakers out with programming. One time he decided to betray me though. He told me he knew a new trick and added that to my program.
What I really didn't know was that it was an advertising program ! It advertised NeoBlaze so I got warned 4 times for that by Euphoria and Steven. I was mighty pissed off as you could imagine.
I haven't spoken to Jakers since and don't plan to.

After returning to codex I made a new friend who we all know and love. This guys name was Kai(or Neo which
ever one you know him as best). Both of us were into programming and we woud always try and come up with big schemes to make alot of money =P None of these worked out.
At this time I started posting more in the general chat and made afew more friends. I would keep applying for private and asking everyone to vote yes for me. I mean
what sort of noob does that. I mean I don't even have the noobiest of noobs doing that to me now so I think that I must have been some sort of super-noob tongue.gif I eventually made a half decent program. This was my Auto-Bidder. This day Euphoria added me and told me that was was sorry and he wanted to be friends. I was very surprised because I had made alot of attempts at being friends but no lol. The next day I was made Jr Programmer. I thought I was some kind of hard-core programmer after this lol.

I also found around this time that I wasn't fitting in with the other members as much as I would have liked. This changed as my personality changed. Funnily enough when my personality changed my amount of real life friends increased ALOT and so did my codex friends. Around about this time the admins re-promoted RareDareDevil and I was outta there. I went with Dan, Euphoria, Kim and Matt to Pantdevil. Cooliodoc taught me the basics of abit more advanced programming so I was happy and my skills got better. Later I got sick of pant devil and adjusted to RDD being there.

Dan started a constant flame war against me, everything i'd post he'd HAVE to post something derogatory about me or my belifs. I ignored it for awhile and then he was finally suspended for it. I eventually began to like RDD, The day I thought he was accually a nice person he defaced code and blamed it all on an admin of 3vo called Midash. I was very pissed off and so was well the rest of codex really. There was huge flame wars between the two sites until the admins figured they had been betrayed by RDD.

When the admins were trying to fix the board I got better aquainted with Noitidart and asked Trevor to let me in private. Trevor and I talked for awhile. He then said that me getting in private just because one admin likes me is just plain silly. I agreed. I don't know what happened that month but alot of people started to respect me more, especially in the higher levels of members. So that was the month I sort of spread my wings and showed myself to codex. Dan would still flame everything I did but we both managed to make it into private that same month. The day we both got in private he IMed me telling me he was sorry for everything he said, he was stupid and immature. I told him I was sorry for anything I might have said and we became friends. About this time Cataliste left. I was bummed. He was the main person I talked to from codex. Although I still continued getting friends and such. In this time Elz, a good programmer from 3vo made a neopoint generator.

I began to play neopets again. I got fairly rich and bought alot of stuff. I was eventually frozen sad.gif This made me determined to make a program that would totally annialate neopets and what I though would give me alot of riches lol. At the time this program was well out of my programming capabilities. I promised myself that one day I'd make it and prove to myself I could do it though. More about that later though lol.

Months went on, I got more and more friends. Eventually Xth Cannon and myself became great friends, we'd talk all the time and it was great to have another codex aussie that I felt I could talk to about nearly anything because he was and still is such a great friend. Afew months later I met Analouge (You might know her better as Suz). Me and her got along beautifully and she was a great laugh. Several months later I had personal issues going on and I was a mess (I had a litterally obsessed crazy girlfriend and my dog who I had loved for 6 years got hit by a car). I was a nervous wreck and my friends from codex really really helped me through this smile.gif I thank them all for this. Just after I was starting to get over the personal things Cataliste returned ! I was happy. He taught me more programming stuff. Then soon after that I got Full Programmer, and then a day later I got Retired. I was happy and I continued posting at codex for some time. I learned new programming languages and got rid of serveral personal problems including that crazy obessed girlfriend lol. I was much easier to get along with.

Quite afew months later to my shock I was promoted to Moderator. It had been one of my goals to become a Moderator at codex and I had just done it. It took abit of time getting used to afew things. I even accidently deleted afew posts tongue.gif I got comfotable with the controls though and yeah got pretty settled as part of the staff. Afew months later I found the key to that program I had promsied myself I would make. It took me about 4 days to write the start of it although it got an error so I put the project on hold. Months went by posting getting more friends and evetually I took antoher crack at this program, this time I got it. I was happy and very proud. So yeah thats my codex story lol. Sorry if i went on about and bored you. Theres afew people I'd like to thank for my wonderful time at codex, I'm not naming you all but I'll name just afew;
Cataliste, Ryan (Sockopen), Xth Cannon, Lazy GFX Leader, Hydrogen, Shadowlink and Noitidart. There are others who I haven't mentioned mainly because I'm affraid this post will be far too long but thannks everybody I have mentioned and everybody in general for just being a great bunch of people !

Oh and for those who want to know how my personal life is I'll tell you, I've got a beautiful girlfriend who I love very much and life couldn't be going any better smile.gif

test: He who must not be named He who must not be named

Nice stories. I'll write my own and post it once I'm done. Just want to see if He who must not be named haxxed the filters or something

Yep. It's a conspiracy no doubt led by Pyke. Now to write my story

Ok. I honestly have no clue when I started playing Neopets, I'd assume sometime after 5th grade (which was 4 years ago, making me 11/12) which is when I first saw it. The "in" crowd wasn't too different from the "out" crowd since we were all kids and I manage to be friendly with the majority of the "out" people, be friendly with all the in people and be with my friends somewhere in between. So I walked into class, it was a couple weeks after we got 2 class computers, 1 guy was with this girl on neopets with a crowd around them. They were showing off how they had 15k and were so good at the game, a couple people were interested but the rest of the people were calling them losers and such. I just sat back and watched and wondered how they could be interested in such a childish site. Well about 2 years of playing on and off led to me getting frozen, then getting me frozen once again after I tried scamming people to make my money back (Guys, don't scam. It makes you feel like shit. I got this email from a 12 year old asking while I stole her sisters petpet, I still think about it)

Anyways, I heard stuff about restocking and took a shot at it. It took about 6 months (on and off playing) to finally restock an unbuyable (which I stole for 110k). I spent all my money and got a 55 booster pet and was really proud of myself (last time I had a 35 booster and maybe 200k, half of what I had after restocking). So then I decided to cheat thinking I'd have like a million and retired. So I somehow joined GZP. It was infested by spammers, scammers and leachers. Then Alias's (who was a mod) account got hacked and the hacker posted a program that stole all the neopoints and bought 3 smiley face cards or something. And I thought to myself this was ridiculous, I need to find somewhere else to go. I heard all this great stuff about Neocodex and figured I'd take a look but registrations were closed (Not sure if this was before or after Alias's account being hacked). Then Alias came back and said how GZP was shit and how he was going to Codex and I'm not sure if he said it or someone else did but I found out registrations were open. Then I came here (not done yet)

So I joined Codex, this site rumored to be filled with great members and programs that would make you millions and were clean. I was skeptical. One of my firsts posts (maybe it was my first and I'm lieing to save face ninja.gif) asked if the programs were scanned. Instead of being flamed like I thought I would be but I was answered, by Hydrogen on top of it. I was in awe, back at gzp everyone was impersonal, but here I was being answered by the highest ranking member. Frizzle even said he'd back me admin if I changed my name purely to Hobo, I knew I'd like it here. I wanted to be part of the community - I wanted to be accepted. I figured a big post count would bring respect. So I did what was common in GZP. I spammed. People got tired of it and I eventually got warned, though I did get pissed at Krnsaber and Icey even though they were extremely leniant, I got many warnings.

So I stayed for a while. Playing neopets and such. I was a bd chatter at the time. And I came upon a thread which a guy was asking help for sewage surfer. I had the avatar from a program here so I asked the guy for his aim. We talked for a bit then I told him about Codex. He said he knew about Codex and it's programs but was making the thread to seem more legit. He said we was a mod. Turns out he was Frosty. It was insane! He decayed my warns, I talked to him for a bit but then he went inactive

Well I stayed a member for a long time, being fairly consistent. Eventually I got into private (Pretty sure I owe ZDL for it since he told me to lengthen up my application which I made an excuse for (in reality I thought my chances were non-existent and barely bothered)) Then I started playing dota more seriously and I think Toxic Snipe made a thread about it and thats were I met Gargar and Krnsaber. We were all noobs and got good at it at the same pace so we spent hours (read days) playing together. Gargar phails at life and picked up WoW but (I like to think) we still bonded and I can call him a friend (I even made friends with his friend, Count-Dracula tongue.gif). Meanwhile me and Krn were getting better and I think we talked about leagues. And meanwhile I became friends with his friends. And we still play to this day (though not as often probably since he gets 6 hours of sleep whilst I get 10 so he's on late). And then I made Retired. (Though I made admin about 1 1/2 years after joining, just couldn't talk about it. And no I'm not writing this so you suddenly get interested since you're a lazy bastard and are going to read the first and last line of every paragraph. I really am /bans you)

I can write more, like my failed attempts at programming, my get rich quick schemes, friends I made on the neoboards and Lineage but this has taken like 40 minutes and I want to sleep.

Oh and for the record, I know I could of done this in one smooth post but if it got erased I would of given up and deleted everything so I'm doing it in chunks tongue.gif

I may as well explain my beginnings also.

Back in 2002ish was when I played Neopets the most. Around then I mostly just played to get an insanely high amount of Neopoints and I did not know that Neopets programs even existed. I don't think any modern-grade Neopets cheating sites were established back then. It was around this time that my friend I created the YAID group (the "your account is dead" group). Him and I were basically Neopets scammers, going to the extent of creating fake login pages to harvest usernames/passwords and such. We would take over accounts and transfer the items and Neopoints through a series of diversion accounts (chain-freezing wasn't really done very much back then). We eventually got bored of this and the group just died.

I really didn't play Neopets much after that. Out of nowhere one day, I checked to see if my Neopets accounts were active and indeed they were. So what the heck, I decided to make a google search on the topic of "neopets cheating" to see if I could discover new ways to acquire neopoints the "non-standard" way. This was February 16, 2004, the day I joined Neocodex version 2 on the free onlinehome.us server the site was operating from, known to the old school members as www.neocodex.tk . My random google search took me to an MSN group, where I found a post from "reggieleewolf21" (aka reggiewolf). It was one of those spammy ads that talked about "free neopets programs, click here" sort of thing. Something about the advertisement striked me as unique though... it wasn't really written as a scammer would have written it, so I clicked it and it brought me to Neocodex.

So at this point in time, I was a program leecher. There were not very many programs, but there was programming talent. I wanted to learn how to program. Here is a thread of me asking for help learning VB6:

The first few weeks of learning this strange new language was a bit of a grueling process. It was nothing like the basic PHP I was used to doing: http://www.neocodex....p?showtopic=703. However, a few days later I was able to produce an operational program that didn't get rejected: http://www.neocodex....p?showtopic=747. In March, I made a few more programs that some people may know: "Rhello" was one of them. It was about this time that I began to get involved with the rivalry that was happening between Digibliss and Neocodex, because I considered myself to be an integral part of the site in late March since I was promoted to the Programmer rank and the Moderator rank later in March (Hydrogen and I later on disputed on this point, but archives we discovered of March and April proved this to be true tongue.gif).

The stuff below is the best recollection I have of the events that happened in April 2004. After all, it happened three years ago.

In April, there was much discussion going on in the staff area about a merger between Digibliss and Neocodex to end the conflict and get some objective programming done since our site was going down all the time for "unknown reasons". Since I took a lot of what was going on to heart, I was invited to take part in negotiations between the two communities regarding the whole merger thing. When our site went down in mid-April, the administrators were put into a position of frustration and official discussions about the merger were going on between the two communities (I have the chat transcripts of these discussions still on my hard drive). The day the site went down was the day I got promoted to the Administrator position, and to be honest, I was disappointed that the site I was administrator of was going to soon cease to exist. The admins had discussions of our own about the merger, and I guess we felt it was not in our best interest to merge. The same day we made sure to let Digibliss know that we did not want to merge through some hilarious chat conversations (which I still have on my HDD as well). Hidden.Elf was a pretty funny guy to work with sometimes. tongue.gif

And after that, ups and downs happened and here we are today. I'm sure you've heard the rest enough times already. biggrin.gif

One day I was browsing shops in neopets and found an ad for your guild which I then joined. I was inactive for a couple months then started getting active on the guild and talking to you on msn. Eventually I took a slight interest in Gfx on codex and impressed the hell out of you with a guild banner I made. At some point in october of 2005 I figured you were trustworthy enough so I told you about neocodex.

I found codex in august of 2004 whilst browsing google for neopets cheats, I came across some website with cheat programs on it that the guy was leaching from codex. However he did link to neocodex, I joined and wasn't very active for several months. I was pruned sometime in december and wound up having to get shadowlink to remake my account at which point i became a bit more active. I can't remember much after this point so the chronologocal order may be off, suffice to say I gradually became more active. I suppose the first person I met on codex was athean during the codex "big contest". during this big contest period I invited several neopets friends over, only foogie stuck around to become active. There came a point when I sought to be known for something on codex. Jasper_be posted a dance mix on codex, I had made mixes in the past myself and decided to take the time to upload mine which was met with some praise, between that and an entry i made in the big contest I became known as the techno music dude and once or twice people came to me asking about dance music. The dance music thing must not have been widely recognised because I soon realised I still wasn't known much here. At some point I thought I would become known as the dude who likes ghosts and ufos and stuff and started posting paranormal threads, that was when I met kitchwa whos been one of my bigger friends on msn. Hmmm..... I made private in june of 2006 after a year of trying (wow, it's nearly been a year since). I've made a few friends since and more recently became insanedragonz' first recruit into the lenny conundrum team, joined the contest team. Now I'm trying to get to be friens with this long list of people on msn whom i've added over the years, so if you have me on your msn list then feel free to talk to me smile.gif

Nobody will want to read my story, but I'll do it anyways, since I am bored and literally have nothing to do.

It all started in 2000 (I was what... 9). I was at school, and one of my older brother's mates claimed to my brother that he made a website called Neopets.com. My brother instantly signed up, yet soon found out that his schoolmate had not made it, as he had claimed to do. For months my brother played Neopets, and I was intrigued to say the least. I often sat next to him on the computer and watched him play, entranced. The thing I wanted most in the world was to create a Neopets account, however, my brother refrained me from doing so, believing that you were only allowed to sign up for any one account at a time. After a few months, I gave up on Neopets.

Around 6 months later, my mate across the road had signed up for Neopets, and was often found raving about it's brilliance. He told me that he, as well as his brother, had created an account. Quickly, I created one on my own computer. After a few weeks, everyone in my neighborhood, as well as my school was playing Neopets. I knew nothing of the game, and made money simply by playing games and selling objects in my shop. What is odd with me, is that from a young age, I have always had a, "devilish", side. I was bored with Neopets, bored with earning mediocre amounts of Neopets, and set out to scam some of my classmates. At 10 years of age, I pretended to buy Neopets account, made people in my class write down their username and password, and then give it to me. I don't know how I did it, but I glimpsed the paper without them seeing, and then gave it back to them, apparently withdrawing my offer. Another few months went by where I played Neopets. I had reached my long-fought goal of 50,000 neopoints, and purchased a Rainbow Frost Cannon. I was the happiest kid in the world. Then, a week later, my frost cannon got stolen, and a few days after that, my account got frozen. Still do this day, I suspect this kid down the road.

I have up on Neopets, and the computer for a few months. As I lived right next to the beach and rugby oval, I just spent my weekends doing those two activities. Then, in 2002, and early 2003, I started getting back in to Neopets. My neighbor and I created a Neopets account, and soon created a petpet gallery. After about a month, we were worth around 500,000 neopoints, the most I ever had. I even created my first guild, and got good at HTML. This is where my programming experience began. I then fell for a scam. Neopets allowed you to link to URLs, so that when I searched the shopwiz, I found a good item for 1NP. By the time I got there, the item had sold out, however I did not know it. In the shop description there was a picture of an unbuyable, for 1 NP. Although I did not know it at the time, when I clicked that picture, I got taken to a page stating I was not logged in. I logged in countless times, yet I still got that page. All of our petpets got taken within days, and I was enraged.

I searched Google for "Neopets hacks", and found Nhacks. I joined under the alias of 1337_Battler (I created another Neopets account and that was my username). I soon found firebirdGM's Neopets Mainshop Autobuyer. I used this for a while, and reclaimed my fortune. However, an OCR was soon added, and the program was patched. Firebird fixed this, however, he only released his new version privately. The public version he released forced the user to input the OCR. This was no good of course (no disrespect fbgm, twas good program, i was just a noob at the time), and I went searching for more. I soon found a website called ZetaCrack, and started using Ghost's Neopets Autobuyer. I was still active both on Zetacrack and NHacks. Around this time, I had started to program in Visual Basic 6. I started dabbling around with the WebBrowser and inet control and made a few simple programs. Then, on nhacks, I got an invite from a user called Gaggit, or Maggot or something, who invited me to a website named Nrealm. At this website, I found the person who invited me, as well as Power_Pack66 as administrators. The website was fairly bad, and they appointed me to Super Moderator because I could make a few basic programs.

Someone from nrealm led me on to codex, I believe it was xbullet. I instantly liked codex, and started programming etc. for the website, releasing a few, extremely basic programs. However, I was not very active. After about only 200 posts, I soon found myself as a private member. At this point, I still loved cheating Neopets, and although I had got around 50 accounts frozen, I was still intent on trying. I loved this new rank, as I had access to a great amount of Neopets programs. I continued posting on NeoCodex until I received around 800 posts, when I got bored with the website. At this time, I barely talked with anyone from the website, and don't believe I had any of them on my MSN.

A few months later, I returned, and had a long term goal of becoming a moderator. I instantly set out to increase my knowledge in Visual Basic, and soon released various other programs in winsock. I was still only intermediate in the language, and found this rather difficult, as winsock gave me many errors, although I persevered. I was soon granted the rank of Junior Programmer. This must have been in late 2004 or early 2005. I spent days reading through the snippets in the Jr Programmer area and greatly increased my knowledge. After a few months, Visual Basic was easy, I had familiarized myself with the syntax, many functions etc. so that I could make any Neopets program I desired. My ultimate goal had always been to make a mainshop autobuyer, and after making one within about 1-2 hours, I had grown bored with Neopets programming. Although I hated it, I bore through it to release quite a few programs to NeoCodex. However, I soon grew bored with VB6 and later learnt other languages, namely VC# & PHP. Around this time I also started becoming interested in earning money online. I started making and selling websites, and was earning quite a bit of money.

As my programming knowledge was rapidly increasing, I was appointed to Full Programmer. This had always been a subgoal of mine (the largest of which was moderator). I was extremely happy, and this inspired me to further increase my knowledge of programming. At the very same time, I had grown extremely good at PHP. So good, in fact, that I could offer my services on various webmaster forums, and was able to complete any task that was assigned to me (for money of course). I was making good money, however I still loved NeoCodex. It is around this time that I began talking to Suz, who I grew quite warmly to. She helped me become Retired on the rank. The prestige retired rank was a great honor, and was only one below staff. I was extremely happy. Around this time as well, I started befriending some other members of codex. Stephen and He who must not be named stick out. I had always distanced myself from members of codex (this often helped me remain unswayed when various large events, such as the RDD affair etc. occurred). Stephen had always been a few ranks above me, and He who must not be named had always been a few ranks below me. It was mid 2006. I had been at codex for 2 years.

Around this time, I started getting aggravated with some of the members on codex, and some of the events that were going on. In my two years at codex, I had only been warned once (think it was for telling... dan? to bark off), however I soon found myself wanting to lash out at members etc. I further distanced myself from the website and left. Over about the period of a month, I had said and done some stuff that I felt tarnished my opportunity of ever being promoted again, so it is in this sense that I left. I soon created my own forum, which was an instance success. After running that forum successfully for a few months I sold it for around $2,000. Since then I have been scripting for money, creating certain scripts that have acquired me a lot of money. I asked to be temporarily demoted to the rank of a normal member, and Noitidart thankfully carried it out for me. Soon after, I let Suz in to my account and was banned, which later was altered in to a suspension.

I decided to come back to NeoCodex. I am no longer power hungry as I once was, and do not crave ranks as I once did. I am just happy to post, contribute where I can, and occasionally program for the website when I get a bit of free time. Boring history, is mine, but I had to tell it.

My story?

I joined digibliss because I felt like it, got to know digital, became a programmer there, interlapsed in all the drama concerning neo_grl and her side of things, heard of neocodex, digital sent me to take a look at it, and I never came back.

Digibliss felt like a concentration camp most of the time - I joined (both sites) as Dragonfire23, then switched to Euphoria after a while. I got made smod, for reasons I still dont know, did some stuff, got senior programmer (I think I was the first along with wlt), went inactive, got fired, and have hung around doing whatever since. I could glorify my story and make it an epic tale of epic maneuvers, but there's enough of that in this thread already.

You all have really extensive histories!
I really don't.

I came across someone on Neopets who was obviously cheating, and, interested in programs, I sent him a Neomail and got referred to NeoCodex. I've never to this day found out who that person was, but I really appreciated it!

Since all my time on NeoCodex I reckon I've used a program maybe three times. tongue.gif Huh. So much for the reason I came. I didn't really get involved in the conflicts or anything, except that I do remember that Codex nearly shut down once... or something... and then there was PD... that's all I remember.

I've disappeared and reappeared a few times since I joined (I do that on every forum). I will stay this time, but even if I don't... I'll come back. I'll keep coming back. I like it here. tongue.gif

*rolls back sleeves and cracks knuckles*

Well... A few years back now, I used to play NeoPets in secret. None of my friends knew... it's not exactly the coolest activity for a 16yo.
Anyways, I was bumbling along quite happily, collecting the old avatars because I'm addicted to collecting things, and it began to dawn on me. I simply wasn't a good enough player to get all of these avatars. I needed more money.
So when it came out that one of the people in my guild "hacked" to fund the contests, I contacted him.
I was referred over to 3volutionize.com, because that guild member was Vega.

I spent a while at 3vo, mostly in the GFX section. I like to think I picked up a few skills, but they're mostly rusted away now tongue.gif
Aaaanywho, 3vo had a period of downtime, thanks, I believe, to our beloved sockopen, and I signed up here to pass the time, since regs happened to be open. I confess, I was interested to see what 3vo was so afraid of that they filtered out it's name.
It was nice here, I guess, but so very big and scary that I scuttled back to 3vo as soon as it was running again. I became friends with Sara, Vega's sister, there, and she introduced me to Sarah. Together Sarah and I became GFX Leaders, and we began to see beneath the forced exterior of 3vo to the rotten core inside.
Eventually, I annoyed Daniel so much that he does the same thing he does to everything that threatens his rank. He banned me.
And so I came here.

The first real friend I made here, was Suz. Apparently I did something right, because I made Private in my second month of activity, first app, though I suspect Suz may have glared at people until they yes'd me tongue.gif Nothing particularly noteworthy happened for quite some time...
Apart, of course, from the Thorpe Park trip. Suz, Rob, Darren, Lee, Zulfi and I all met up at the station, and had a day at Thorpe Park. The photos are floating about somewhere... videos too, I think.
Then I got promoted to Moderator, which was as much a shock to me as to anyone. People were angry, I don't really know why. I demoted myself.
At least, I tried... Ali slapped me about for a bit and made me stay. I'm grateful to her for that, despite my ultimate decision.
I'll tell you this, though. When you get to be staff, you see a much darker side of wherever you are. You see the invisible topics, the invisible posts, the warn logs, the vexed staff threads... It paints a much darker picture of the forum as a whole than your average member ever gets to see.
That was a big part of my next move. Again, I demoted myself.

I got suspended for twelve hours the other week, because I do not like keeping my mouth shut, and because certain people don't have the grace to leave us alone. But whatever.
And, here we are today.

I'm not sure if I'm really old enough to deserve a story (I was trying to read everyone's storys, read three and gave up, so I can't imagine anyone will read mine anyway).

Anyways I got into neopets when I used to play with a couple of girls that lived across the street from me back in primary school. They'd signed up to it and were showing it to me and told me I ought to sign up, so I did and was pretty much immediately addicted. I remember I ended up on one of those fairy quests, didn't know about the neoboards where you could ask for help and didn't consider asking a friend for help, so spent like a week getting 5k (yes a week for 5k, sad I know) to buy this stamp from a mall. My next big purchase was a Noil (50k back then) and I actually gave up pretty soon afterwards.

My neopets life is kinda boring really, before Codex I used to make sets of three accounts that I would use every time I returned, a main on my address and another two on my mum's and then my dad's address, thought I was really incredible for getting away with 3 accounts tongue.gif. So I never really did much, I must have bought like 10 Noils in my time though tongue.gif.

Anywho, eventually Fox got back into Codex and ended up telling me about it, I wanted to join but the registrations were closed. I remember checking the homepage loads for this mysterious person called 'Hydrogen' that Fox said she'd spoken to tongue.gif. The invite system got put up and I joined immediately, made an intro topic and discovered the wonder of the hug.gif smiley.

Anyways, I made 70 posts in two days and promptly decided I'd proven that I wasn't leeching so that it'd be okay to use the programs. Robert very kindly added me to his MSN list and I remember getting the cliffhanger one working, but I kinda gave up because it was actually behaving like I might have to put effort into it tongue.gif. I dunno why specifically I left, but I do know Master Shake spammed a lot of smileys at me, I did the same back and I was the one that got shouted at by some high ranking staff member person, but I can't remember who on earth it was (watch this, it was probably just a jr programmer or something tongue.gif). So my activity died for a year until Fox was back on it again and I decided to give it another go too.

Anyways, the rest you guys will all know seeing as it was only a year ago anyway tongue.gif. As soon as I came back I posted a hell of a lot becuase I pretty much immediately decided I would be applying for private, but had a ppd against me. I remember Rambo was on of my first codex friends and I was quite sad when he was banned, even though nearly everyone else was rejoicing. Well, I managed to get 2ppd up in time for private (a month and a half later then I joined, I got away with it though because of my join date tongue.gif). And got in first time, which was great happy.gif. I remember badgering Ali quite a bit about results and things because it felt like it was taking foreeever and I was ridiculously excited tongue.gif. I was later informed in the private promotions post that to get in first time around after applying as soon as possible is pretty hard, so I guess that just makes me Super-Eeyore.

A few months later I joined the contest team because I figured it was someone way I could actually contribute. Tried to be active and made friends with Ange, who I was actually quite nervous about because I knew she was friends with Suz, and by that time I just sooo wasn't, so I thought she'd hate me tongue.gif. Anyway it didn't work out like that at all and when Zulf stepped down from leader I was it, so now I get a purple name, which is better then blue happy.gif.

Wow look at me, I made a very boring history long and tedious, good job no one is going to read it.

Woo for narcissistic topics!
I made a neopets account as another form of avoiding work in IT lessons. A few years later, I joined codex as another form of avoiding GCSE revision. I made some lovely friends called Ali and Matt (Phoon), and after being a member for a month, was made mod when rdd had a hissy fit and took down the board. (First of many times). Decided to take over the IRC with Slothie and Rdd, and had many conversations about gayness, shoes and such. Sent Matt a pink thong in the post.

At some point, I made Private Leader with Ali, but couldn't really be bothered. At another point, I left to be an admin at the new PD with Dan, Matt and Euph, but couldn't really be bothered. (Notice a pattern here?) Came back and was a mod again, and given retired. Edited lots of sigs, and started world domination plan with Ali. Acquired a fairly amusing warn log. Hydro became a kitten. Received porn from Matt in the post. Got into a big fight with Noit for some reason (this was before I was too lazy to be idealistic) and was demoted again, but my permissions mucked up and I could see a staff talk board- bitching ahoy tongue.gif Ended up having huge arguements with Cody, Hanneh (remember her? Gawd, that vid of Frosty.. *shudders*) Dan and various other members over the time. In between all the drama, I gfxed a lot, spammed a lot, ran the Codies for a few months and somehow got a few articles into the ezine on time. ohmy.gif

um well, I guess my story's kinda complicated and simple at the same time. And lame.

My brother told me to join for like uh, game help (no, not neopets. Oddly, Ive never really ever played it much. Years ago i used to go on for games but no .. I never really played. o.o) with my computer and etc etc (game help that I never got, jerks sad.gif ) and whatever. I posted a bit (this time last yearish?) and people started to add me to msn.
Over the summer that just past, Id like to think I made a lot of friends. I met almost everyone (and didnt stress over those who didnt want to meet me, so I just assumed they didnt like me and I didnt really care enough to change that) and I guess I got really attached to some of the members here and stayed for them. Since I really dont have any talents, I dont have anything to contribute 'cept my fun posting habbits. I stayed and was really active for most of the summer, too. I think thats when people started to know me and judge me and my favorite time here. tongue.gif --oh yeah, and I made private for a bit but then I lost it since like er the whole rank was demoted for leaking or whatever. -nodnod-
But then there was this big streak of drama on codex and things changed I suppose. I stopped talking to a lot of people I used to seriously adore and I over time stopped visiting codex. Which is now.
But I have a shitload of good memories with a lot of different people here, so it's okay. Ive let go of people and codex, which is why I come on occasionally. I honestly think this site's changed me enough and given me enough. I dont really want anything more out of it. o-o
/rant
yes Im done now.
I dont think Ill post names of everybody Ive ever met here because well .. no. xP
