And lol, you're an american, expect to get insulted here, or leave.

I am English; we are smarter then you. Get over it.

Lulz. American jokes. This is almost as funny as those jokes about what happens in Soviet Russia.

Now if you're going to make a sweeping generalization like that, you should know you'll be asked to clarify.

Did you mean:

1. The smartest English person is smarter than the smartest American. (This would be hard to prove, but an interesting point if you were trying to make it)
2. The average English person is smarter than the average American. (I admit this may be true, as there are a lot of idiots pulling the national average down)
3. The Eastern Europeans coming to the UK are smarter than the Mexicans coming to America. (yes, an American is aware of your people screaming about foreigners taking their jobs)
4. The dumbest person in the UK is smarter than the average person in the USA. (Another interesting point if it was what you were shooting for)

Now just in the internet microcosm that I've been exposed to, I've met at least three idiots for each cultured person willing to have an intelligent conversation. I can't say that bodes well for your "smart" numbers. Maybe we can just chalk it up to lost brain cells due to over-drinking. I'm sure that will make up for the difference.

EDIT: Fair warning: If you keep dodging requests for elaboration, I'm going to move you over to the dolt category.

Either you like playing the devils advocate , is crazy, or a troll. It doesn't matter because on this subject you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.

Palin isn't even liked in the Republican Party. She has been basically disowned by them after all it was mainly her fault that McCain had such a bad showing in the votes.

So she now trawls the fringe group , The Tea Party, because they are as ignorant as her.

Fact is, Americans in general, are less intellectual then their british/european/asian/hispanic counterparts

Do you have the stats on that generalization regarding Americans?

I agree about Palin though regarding her intellect; I really don't know much about her, but she can't be as stupid as people say and still got as far as she has. That doesn't mean I like her though haha.

I am sure that many people would like to think that people that they dislike are stupid, but that is not always the case (although it sometimes is :p)

Idiot isn't exactly the right word. She is ignorant which is worse. She is a huge fear monger and when she is confronted with FACTS she accuses people of "attacking her" or "hating America" or a "socialist"(she like sadly most Americans DO NOT know what true socialism is).

Here is a perfect example why I despise the bitch:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjJTSSdkqJk

So she got her feelings hurt. But she's an ignorant bitch because the girl who played the character who had downs syndrome REALLY DOES have downs syndrome and she got royally pissed at Sarah Palin:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhMSA6Chiag

I know she is sort of hard to understand but the gist of what she said about Palin is "You just use your son for votes and ignore him when the cameras aren't on you".

Oh and after the actress confronted Palin, Palin went silent. Thats her M.O. If found wrong and is in a corner she goes silent (I always pictured her with her fingers in her ears going "NANANANA I can't hear you!").

Yes she is an ignorant bitch.

lol so you've already admitted she's done alot and isn't an idiot. Also, don't assume you'll pass your degree in 3 years, that's just plain stupid. And lol, you're an american, expect to get insulted here, or leave.

Because lots of people do something; does not that the pride and hard work out of something. Lots of people do heart surgery, I sure as hell can't but I still look up to people who do it.

Don't assume public speaking is linked to intellect either, some people have charm and charisma, some don't. Some people don't have any. But I bet you can think of people you know in real life who are good at speaking in public to people but are general idiots and vica versa. And yeah, I probably do know more about American politics about you; I studied it indepth for 3 years at an academic level.

Plus I don't use natural disasters to learn more geography. I am English; we are smarter then you. Get over it.

lol bingo

Yeah, don't assume with your teenage brain that you could run the country better based on what you think about when you get stoned. Anyone who runs a country is usually highly intellectual in the fact that they can manage a team that manages the country. A true skill right there (unless Karolos Papoulias in which case, yes. You are an idiot and fucked).

lol no-one cares cripple. Stop ya bitching.

Just get the fuck out of this forum. For studying this for three years, you know absolutely shit about it. Which still proves your whole point wrong. College educations can be purchased, which you still fail to understand. In america, if you want something, then you can purchase it. This is exactly how Sara Palin has gotten anywere in life. Obama just happened to have more money and won the election, and she got upset.

If for about 30 seconds you listened to her speech, then you would realize that she is an utter moron. Some people cannot speak in public (For instance, Obama). but they just mumble/stutter/repeat themselves. The retarded people speak in public close to fluidly and they just make up things to try and make themselves sound smart.

I really and honestly hope that your "Americas are stupid" attitude is just trolling, because as it turns out, America happened to kick your ass -repeatedly- in war, as well as bail your ass out in the economic scene more then once. While you may think your oh so smart and america is full of retarded, your country still relies on us alot more then rely on you. If someone relies on a mentally retard person for help, what does that say about them?

This is how I feel: Now that she quit her job, she's just a celebrity commentator. Imagine if Arnold Schwarzenegger quit his job as Governor, and got a job at Fox. Who the hell even cares what he'd have to say? But at least he was in the fucking Predator. What has Sarah Palin done for us, besides prove to us that only teaching our kids abstinence doesn't work?

Don't get so angry. I just said I hope you have a good editor. You're the one trying to claim you've accomplished so much with your short stories and novel in the works. I'm just saying, I hope you have a good editor. I can't think of anyone who would want to read (let alone pay for) your mockery of the English language as it's conveyed on these forums.

A) Being intoxicated is no excuse for making that many errors.
B) That's really the only part of the post I was looking for
C) I never said you were perfect anyways
D) You're the one talking yourself up, I'm just commenting on it.

Edit: I should've known that you quoting Tina Fey and analyzing it literally was a precursor for your wonderful knowledge of Sarah Palin. (You see what I did there? I employed a cool mechanic, it's called sarcasm. I didn't know if your English skills were able to comprehend sarcasm, so I put this in parentheses just in case.)

FFS 'A mockery of the English language', could you be anymore pretentious?

Anyhow, while I can't agree that Sarah Palin is a complete idiot, I really hope the purpose of this thread isn't to simply slander her with personal attacks. I don't agree with her theories of law. Though religion does and has always played a part in forming law, so do many many many many many other ideals. You might be surprised that the 'ten commandments' weren't the first actual laws ever created, historically there were laws similar to this long before modern religion was founded.

I agree that separating religion and government is EXTREMELY important for obvious reasons, let us not forgot the domination of Catholicism/Christianity throughout the middle ages and the terrible consequences from this.

Apart from that why all of a sudden all this hate with Sarah Palin, I may be being ignorant but isn't she out of the picture now?

She's a commentator on Fox News now, and is making appearances at tea party rallies and has most recently been out defending Arizona's new illegal immigration law which some fear may lead to racial profiling. Although she technically is not even working for our government anymore, apparently her opinion still means something. She's pretty much the Tony the Tiger for the right wing masses.

Oh thanks. That explains it. I wouldn't mind finding out who does her PR, she's managed to score a deal with Fox? Despite I'd imagine general audience hatred. I also have to give her marks for managing to stay in the spotlight, when a normal person would and should shrivel up and die. Has she no shame?

I think a president who would get back to The Constitution would do some good, and it was developed by the founders with the help of the Bible because rights came from God, and not the government

When the government starts creating rights, like healthcare, they have the ability to take them away

That quote right there is enough to make me want to shoot her for pure idiocy.... not to mention because of my strong belief in a separation of religion and government, especially in a country where freedom of religion is something we boast about.

you may have a strong belief in the separation of the two, assuming you live in the USA, can you name a president who didn't subscribe to any religion, much less one other than Christianity?

EDIT: wow I didnt even read the Palin quote and it kind of mirrored what i said...freaky...and i know kennedy was catholic, but its still a religion

So would it be fair to call it a pretentious observation? Therefore I'd be well within my right to assume that the observer is in fact pretentious. Honestly though, I really couldn't be bothered to get into a debate. I just find it amusing that in one thread, you harp on about someone else stating the obvious in regards to grammar, yet you did it freely in this thread.

Just because someone in Government is religious, does not mean at all that religion is in Government. (Though it is)

I don't see any admittance in my post that she is intelligent at all.

You don't know anything about University if you don't think that I will be graduating in 3 years and receiving my bachelors degree. I began college this past fall and just FYI it only takes 4 years to get your bachelors.

And seriously the insults are unnecessary and just make you seem childish. BTW just because someone has had more experience in their life than someone else does not make them intelligent.

I just find it amusing that in one thread, you harp on about someone else stating the obvious in regards to grammar, yet you did it freely in this thread.

There's a difference between assumption and observation. I don't really like combining the two together. You're well within your right to do type whatever the hell you want in my opinion. Unfortunately, laws and regulations prevent you from doing that but there's no need to bring up rights here. I don't see why you start asking questions and then say you're not going to stick around for the answer. Isn't it a bit presumptuous on your part to assume that we're debating. I find it amusing how you fail to see how the only reason that I brought up grammar is because the person in whom I'm referring to claims to be an author of published work. Unfortunately, I very rarely remark on grammar unless it can be used as part of an argument, or unless it misconstrues the actual meaning of what was written. (In rare cases I also enjoy correcting iargue and his your/you're) If I claim in my posts that I'm using 100% proper grammar, I'd be lying. However, the fact that I do not claim such is enough reason as to why you shouldn't attempt to correct it. When one claims to be an author, and they have the writing style of a middle school student on an internet forum, I'm going to call them out on it. Try to think more before you connect the dots.

Edit: I just smoked about .15g of BHO. I don't understand how painkillers can effect grammar to the degree that chowhatever claims. I can barely see my keyboard right now, but I still have no issue typing. I haven't taken an English/Writing class in about 3 years, don't you think a self-proclaimed author could at least do a bit better?

So let me get this right, your making the presumption (or is it assumption who knows? only you of course) that all authors are just awesome at grammar? Because that would be highly inaccurate.

What you said was rude, intolerant, hypocritical and unnessecary. I do read posts and I wasn't aware that you were in a debate with her about skills as an author. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the issue what she had accomplished, not how good she was at what she accomplished?

Also, did you miss that she has a disability? Honestly, answer that one because I don't know the answer. Oh and if you dare say that having a disability is no excuse for poor grammar, I will beat you with a stick .
